Arcanist
Aracanist: The Arcanist goes through 4 levels (Level 1, 2, 3, and Master) of gaining Job Points. Beginning the Sentinel job is a prerequisite to become an Arcanist. Each level has an additional way to gain these points, described below along with benefits. The Mystral Ascendancy maintains its superiority over other factions in Aetheria in part due to its expertise in arcane magics. As an Arcanist your job is to maintain and develop the Ascendancy's arcane prowess.
After beginning the job from Sheriff Coltrain, you'll need to report to taskmaster Chartan on the first level of the Wizard's Tower to receive instructions on what to do next. He is located in the hallway on the right in the first room on the left.
Level 1:
- Your first job as an Arcanist is to retrieve reagents that Chartan requires from Akbar, who maintains a rift shard in a tent located at the oasis out in the Wastes of Angmar.
- Akbar Unden is next to the traveling dragon, Gull, inside the Angmar Oasis tent. When speaking to him, you'll need one of more of your Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma scores at 22 (or above) to pass the conversation and progress. After succeeding in the conversation, you may recall to Chartan, then to Sheriff Coltrain to advance to level 2.
- Bonuses - You receive +2 Hide and +2 Lore upon completion.
Level 2:
- Upon reaching level 2, you'll need to speak to Chartan to receive instructions on what to do next. He'll want you to go to Skriggle in Angmar Pass, and that his small cave is up a short desert staircase on the left of the pass. Angmar Pass is a direct transition away from the Wastes of Angmar oasis area. When gaining the dew from Skriggle, which can only be talked to during the day, go back to Chartan to finish the task, then to Sheriff Coltrain to reach level 3.
- Bonuses - You receive +1 Hide and +1 Lore upon completion.
Level 3:
- Speak to Chartan and he will instruct you to kill 5 Medusa, 5 Cockatrice, and 5 Basilisk, and that they will drop their extremities for you to bring to him, so you must have sufficient room; not much room will be required, however. All are found in the Wastes of Angmar. Return to Chartan when finished, then to Sheriff Coltrain to advance your level.
- Bonuses - You receive +1 Hide and +1 Lore, +1 Cha and +1 Int upon completion.
Level 4:
- Speak to Chartan for the last time, and he'll tell you to kill Saur' Rattan within the Kobold Caves. When the task is complete, tell Chartan to get off your back, and go to Sheriff Coltrain demanding your goodies.
- Bonuses - You receive the Fiendish Aura item, and an extra Level 5 spell slot for Wizard/Sorcerer/Bard upon completion.
Theses bonuses are cumulative, in the end, you'll have +4 to Lore and Hide, + 1 to Int and Cha, the Fiendish Aura item, and a level 5 spell slot altogether.
The bonuses listed in your journal are the totaled bonuses in which you receive.
