Stalwart: As a stalwart of Ragnar's Kin, you will be responsible for various tasks in the defense of the Dwarven Stronghold. These tasks are mostly based around simple fighting, since the performers of the magical arts usually are drawn else where. This does however not make the job any less important in the battle of Aetheria.


You can begin this quest by speaking to Sergeant Golar in the Dwarven War Training building.


Level 1

  • As you enlist as a stalwart, your first assignment is mediocre. Before you are given the respectable jobs of drow-killing and orc-smashing, you are to deal with the pesky beetles that plague the tunnels surrounding the Dwarven Stronghold. You will also have to deal with the noisy molemen that are making noise all night.
  • The Underground Lake is where you should go.
  • Bonuses - You receive a +1 bonus to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Magical Beasts, and a +1 to your Discipline after finishing your assignment.


Level 2

  • After finishing your mediocre beautification assignment, you are to receive a slightly more important assignment. You are to deal with the pesky beetles again, however these beetles are disturbing the miners and keeping them from their work.
  • Level 2 appears to require you to kill vermin in the Dwarven Mines instead of the Underground Lake.
  • Bonuses - You're bonuses to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Magical Beasts are increased to +2, and you receive another +1 to your Discipline after killing enough beetles.


Level 3

  • Now onto more important and dangerous stuff, Seargent Golar decides you are ready for a more important task. He asks that you help the Orcs control their booming population, because lately they seem to have ran out of room in the Black Hills and are starting to take residence in your Kin's Tunnels.
  • Bonuses - You receive a +1 bonus to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Orcs, and you receive another +1 to to your Discipline after reducing the Orcs' population enough.


Level 4

  • You have now achieved a respectable rank, and you will now receive your assignments from Captain Kord himself. His first assignment from you is not dealing with Drow, however. Instead, you must deal with the beetles again. Do not take the assignment lightly, for The Queen Beetle is your target and is rumored to be extremely powerful.
  • Bonuses - You're bonuses to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Magical Beasts are increased to +3, you receive another +1 to your Discipline, and +1 to your Wisdom after slaying The Queen Beetle.


Level 5

  • Upon reporting the news of your heroic deed and The Queen Beetle's death, you are now completely done with beetle business. Kord has now assigned you to take on Chief Urgock, the leader of the Orcs. It has been known that he is the one responsible for the recent invasion of Orcs in the Kin's Tunnels.
  • Chief Urgock can be found in the Black Hills inside their Orc cave.
  • Bonuses - You're bonuses to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Orcs are increased to +2, and you receive another +1 to your Discipline after slaying Chief Urgock.


Level 6

  • Now that you have killed Chief Ugrock, you are promoted to a much more important assignment. You are finally given what you wanted, a drow-related assignment. Recently, the Drow have been crawling out of their holes and onto the surface around the Ash Mountains. Captain Kord has made it your duty to remind them with your steel where they belong.
  • Bonuses - You receive a +1 bonus to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Drow, and you receive another +1 to your Discipline after killing a satisfactory amount of Drow.


Level 7

  • To achieve the title of a Master Stalwart, you must complete one last assignment. Captain Kord has received information that a local Duergar in the Dwarven Stronghold is housing a Drow spy. Your job is to search for the traitor, and once you find him bring him to court for his trial. You may give the Drow spy his verdict on the spot with your steel.
  • Bonuses - You bonuses to your Armor Class and Attack Bonus vs. Drow are increased to +3, you receive another +1 to your Discipline, +1 to your Constitution, and the Stalwart Slammer after finding the traitor and the spy.
