Lost characteristic

I just experienced a weird and important problem on a character on reflections. He gained a level and a stat increase and I raised his dex form 16 to 17, I logged out and back ina few minutes later and his dex was only 15! this is not buff or item related this is base dex. I've tried logging out and in it doesnt come back, now what? Anyone ever seen anything like this?
It says he has used no tomes and I think this is wrong as well, and may be the problem.
