For the better part of today, I have not been able to use the NS Diary's functions - all I get is the "using Special Power" message and then nothing. I also tried using a +2 CHA book and got the same message, and again nothing happened. The book wasn't consumed, I wasn't ported and relogged, nothing happened outside of receiving the "using Special Power" message (I still have the book on me and nothing has changed). Sending out a shout to the rest of the players, I was told by many that they were experiencing the same problems. They also have had trouble getting their Diaries to work. I've tried using the Diary after 2 resets to no avail. Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Edit: I noticed early today, a few items in my inventory suddenly became unsellable. This happened during the weird lag we had where all mobs were Blue and needed to be attacked to make them hostile (a reset by Mask fixed this). Don't know if there could be any connections. Also, I tested some of my older characters and all of them have no problems using the Diary or any other "Special Power" items. Some people have also expressed difficulty using race tokens and the like via Shout.

As it seems any special item doesnt work now for certain characters. Keys, Job items, Diaries &c. The solution so far was to replace them, but maybe there is another...

Aye .... i had a kst member who couldnot enter or leave out hall ... i replaced his key and it made everything ok other than him now having 2 no drop items

the kets seem easy to fix just have a dm take the old one ... but the rest ... dont know how easy it would be to replace subrace tokens, job tokens, or diarys.

And it wasnt the whole server .... since as ohters who couldnt ue there were on as i was using mine.

I ran into this issue multiple times yesterday. One of mine couldn't sell some things and I've heard Valis talking about not being able to get into our guild hall. I did not run into the issue with race tokens being unusable though. Probably because I don't have anyone who is a subrace.

Yeah, seems the guild key isnt working I guess, nor are my NC job items. I'm not sure if its just one toon or all my toons yet. Merchants wouldn't buy from me (not sure if I can buy stuff either cuz I have no more gp left). I'll try again tonight to see if it was just a temporary thing, cuz I was able to get in the hall earilier, but then Father Kurth didn't recognize me. I relogged and everything was fine, then problems happened again and relogging didn't work anymore. I got frustrated and left.

The situation is more serious than I thought... My toon insists on cheating. Gonna need to contact someone about it. Its just the one toon tho, others are working properly it seems.

Well, Mirima is without the use of any activatable item, which includes her Diary, stat books, guild key, job items. Seems like Sunday morning her data just got borked or something. Didn't try selling any of the other pre-Sunday items on her yet, but i wouldn't be surprised if they weren't sellable either...The only characters affected by this that I know of so far are the ones that I logged in Sunday morning when the mobs were Blue - which is Mirima.

Yes, mobs were blue when I relogged to try to fix it. I relogged a lot trying to fix things actually....

Well, after logging on some and getting some DM help, it would seem that what ever was in my pack during that wierdness Sunday, is now corrupted in some way. A few things are fixed now at least.

Hmm yes I have this same problem on all my prime server characters I believe. If it has to be fixed on each one that Is going to be a BIG job

Well, I'm gonna see if the anvil in Avendell will fix the stuff. If not, I'm gonna just find a secret place and dump my stuff i guess. I will need a new NS Diary, if that's possible, and a new guild key. Hopefully someone can clean up my inventory of the items I can't drop.

I'm happy to say the anvil seemed to have worked --- for the most part. It swallowed quite a few items, but at least most of my stuff was salvageable and I was able to sell them or use them now. Basically at this point, only the NS diary and guild key are not working....the stuff I can't drop/transfer.

I've pretty much been able to swap out the corrupted items for their uncorrupted counterparts via the anvil. Any stacked items that are put in the anvil will have the extra items in the stack swallowed (ie. place a stack of 10 potions in the anvil, get only 1 back). So, if you want to keep everything you put in the anvil, split all stacked items before placing them into the anvil.

So far, almost every single item that I put into the anvil was not eaten and was able to be swapped out for an uncorrupted version. This includes +ability tomes, crafted gear, scrolls, potions, healing kits, weapons, armor, lockpicks, coffers of all types, etc. Unfortunately, trap components seem like they aren't swappable. I stuck some trap components into the anvil and they disappeared.

A word of caution, any level 30 gear (and I presume any level 25 gear as well) placed in the anvil will be de-leveled to level 20.

Something interesting to note. I placed a level 20 greater buff staff with 48 or so charges left and after using the anvil, I was given a level 20 greater buff staff with 50 charges. Don't know if this is intended.

If I may add, it also seems that items like the NS4 Diary, job items, and guild keys will need to be replaced manually.
