Please enlighten me as to the criteria for logging into other accounts and playing their PSc.
I wish to log in to my sons accounts and help them with building their PCs. However, when I try to enter NS with their character I get the boot!
I did this before on the temp sever with no problem…. Is their something I need to set up on this new to make this work again?
FYI - all of us are on different computers, log on from different IPs and all have brand new copies of NWN diamond...
Baffled!

There has been some problems with thefts of accounts. Especially when the master server is down by bioware. That is why there is a security installed. You can disable it with this:
As in added measure of security, you must be using the same CD key you used to create a character in order to log in that character. We realize this can be very inconvenient to some people's accounts, so we've added a few chat commands:
"/disablesecurity" - Disables CD key check for character. (must be logged in using original cd key to do this)
"/enablesecurity" - Re-enables CD key check for character.
"/checksecurity" - Check whether or not security is enabled/disabled.

Also, if more than one computer is being used on NS4 on the same network, in order to prevent lag (not just your lag, but everyone's), you need to have the Client Port set differently on each computer that will be logging in to NS4. You change this in the "nwnplayer.ini". The file is in your NWN program directory. Open it and look for "Client Port=5121". You can leave one computer set to this if you want, but all others have to be set differently... My boys have copies, as well as my second copy and my brother-in-law's copy (he comes over to play sometimes). Our ports are as follows:
5121
5122
5123
5124
5125
(yes that is a lot of copies of NWN)

It sound like this is your solution. Just be avare that thers a reason for the cd security, and if you enableit, it will be activated for the original cdkey.
