When on our Wiki please be careful. It gets hacked from time to time and you will see a bunch of blue links at the top of the page that will take you to web sites that are full of torjans, spyware and various other malware.

I have been cleaning some of these up. If and when you come across a Wiki page that has this problem, let me know in this thread and we'll clean it up for you. (Post the web addy please.)

Might be faster to look at the current changes link on the side of the wiki, tells you which pages have been scandalized.

I have been browsing the Wiki and removing the links to crap as I find them. But an interesting note is that what I have come across for most of the hacked wiki entries is that, what would be the parts considered evil (factions, gods and such) in the wiki are the parts being hacked.

Yeah saw you name listed where you cleaned. I got a bunch more today in races, maps and stuff. I might try a little something later on. Most of the IP's of those links track back to the Ripe network in Amsterdam. Maybe a couple of e-mails with threat of Interpol might sake the ISP to shut down the source.

Just whent though the Recent changes to try and clean out some of the junk i dont think i got it all, and i expect there will be more sigh

yeah.. there will always be more. They must have some kind of bot doing the deed. I can't see where it is worthwhile to have anyone coming in daily to post a bunch of bogus links to a wiki where they are clueless as to the volume of traffic.

I saw that happen also, as well as some pages just had one odd word added to the beginning. I cleaned up what I could.

It's a massive mess again today. Multiple pages hit yet again. They have to be using some kind of bot for that. We're now looking into a means of upgrading Wiki with a more secure log-on that would stop bots.

Just remember that no matter what is describe in those links they all will redirect you to either a video upgrade ActiveX and get maleware or to AntiVirusScan "you can't close your browser as we try to get you to load trojans" site. Do not use those links. Could be extremely risky no matter how well your system is protected.

I did learn that those trying to load trojans are American companies operating out of Russia through Demark.

I ve changed a bit on the config. Right now only the users I manualy give editing rights can edit pages, so if you dont have the permitions, send me a pm and I'll add you.
