From Changelog:
Protection from Alignment (same, just no mind immunity)
Clarity (now gives +3 vs. mind effects and fear)
Lesser Mind Blank (now gives +4 vs. mind effects and fear)
Mind Blank (now gives +4 vs. mind effects and fear)
Magic Circle vs. Alignment (same, just no mind immunity)
-The previously listed spells don't stack with each other.
-Death Ward no longer gives immunity to death magic, but a +4 saving throw bonus vs. death magic and effects.
-Negative Energy Protection spell no longer gives ability/level drain immunity.
I thought the nerfageddon of clerics already took place lol. This does limit the protective abilities of arcane casters as well, but spells like clarity and protection from alignment were the only spells available to clerics to protect against mind affecting spells.
Other questions: do spells like mind blank or clarity still remove mind affects? (I'm assuming so, but thought I'd make sure)
Does the bonus to saves against mind affects from clarity/mind blank and the like stack with bonuses from AVA/prayer/Aid?
I'm sure there are other questions . . . but these are just a couple off the top of my head. Oh wait!
So when is NC getting wizards or sorces? Our one caster class was dumbed down a little more.

Ok, so if were taking down things like NEP a notch...
Lesser Restoration should relieve ability decreases (outside curse)...
Restoration should relieve level drain...
Greater Restoration should remove everything...
At the very least can we get a list of what these spells will do? So far as Ive noticed Greater Restore is only worthwhile spell...

Clarity (now gives +3 vs. mind effects and fear)
Lesser Mind Blank (now gives +4 vs. mind effects and fear)
Mind Blank (now gives +4 vs. mind effects and fear)
why is mindblank better than clerity?
-Death Ward no longer gives immunity to death magic, but a +4 saving throw bonus vs. death magic and effects.
This only helps wizards and sorc, do they realy need a boost?
-Negative Energy Protection spell no longer gives ability/level drain immunity.
I'n PvP this is mainly used to protect from hipsers with cripeling strike. I know of few classes that need a boost as litle as a hipser :p

Err, Crazy, we have now officially one of the best Prestige Classes in NC. CoT is unbeatable as far as saves are concerned. Even dmg wise does that class rock...

Didn't you know, it is now the age of Conan. Break out your loincloth and face paint, its fear aura time.

Shadow shield staying the way it is currently, they have immunity to necromancy and instant death as well?

Looks like shadow shield is staying the way it is, UEF should still protect from level and ability drain... And the only other toons that relied heavily on reducing ability scores was the wizzies with negative energy burst. Mind Blank is better than clarity because its a wizard only and of higher level.
And Yes its Conan time... Sorc/Barbar anyone? Mords away FoM and everyone will be at the mercy of your ~75 DC fear aura.

UEF still works I'm sure. CoT and Pally classes are wonderful in NC for protecting one against things. But high saves won't protect you against crip strike. This was the glory and wonder of NEP.
However my post was not as much to show how much clerics had been nerfed, but more as a plug for arcane casting classes in NC.
At first I was a bit surprised that the NS4 powers that be decided that these spells needed nerfing. The nerfs that really hurt were PFE/PFG, NEP, and deathward. Those were cheap spells to provide great protection to shore up a large variety of weaknesses.
What this has done is really made arcane casters very powerful. The way I see it, the proverbial "they" are trying to reduce saves to make some of the lesser used abilities of casters more effective. However, Necromancers were one of the more favored caster classes in NS4 before the nerf. Divination just got a boost. Conjuration was deadly for summoning and for use of bigsbies, and Evoker (despite being nerfed to kingdom come with the loss of bigsby) was still amazingly destructive if people knew how to use it correctly. (Side Note: though dangerous to use in defense as the majority of their spells that played on other players' weaknesses were not party/faction friendly, sunbeam and thunderclap to name a few of their most debilitating spells, that should probably be looked at)
We could all make cheesy CoT and pally builds, I know I love em, but do we have to incorporate those into all of our builds. I get tired of cheese, especially when I run out of whi--I mean--wine. Oops I'm out!

So I'm not sure why Mind Blank was reduced to a +4 to will saves when it only gave 1 immunity. The other spells that added Mind Immunity also gave other benifits so I can see the reduction to these spells but not Mind Blank when that was all it did. There are many other much more powerfull spells that add many more immunities that weren't touched as of yet. Please reconsider the benifits of this spell as it provided Arcane spell casters at least one way to protect themselves and thier party.

Yeah I've noticed these changes even before they were listed. My cleric getting feared like mad with clarity. Getting wailed to death with death ward. I agree most of those changes were quite uncalled for. I really feel for all those pure Imploder clerics Ive been seeing being built who are 30+. One of the hardest pure classes to play just got a hell of alot harder. Combined with Pally Mount fear(+and Lagstop), Dragons in AO and TC, Pure Barbs galore(if they were'nt troublesome enough with fear immunity) . I think SL is gonna be running for thier lives quite a bit more. Guess we should just all build pureBarbs and pure wiz/sorcs now? or wait a minute then there's Kender!!! Praise those hairy feet!!!

Yes.

Yes.
These posts seem to suggest that mind blank/clarity is worthless, which is certainly not true. The problem with many of these spells is that they were so easy to get (especially prot. from alignment), and yet they completely negated mass quantities of spells and abilities (enchantment school for example). Death Ward negated many necromancy spells too. Having a decent will save (even if you're a pure fighter), has always been important, but now even more so.
After a bunch of buffs a player was very NS 3.5 (no offense to those players).
