The Silver Striders seek official status ...

The Silver Striders are a guild/clan of rangers and druids, as well as neutral-to-goodly bards and barbarians, based in Melencia. Our aims are to defend the defenseless, protect the innocent and preserve Nature from wanton (read: gratuitous, unnecessary) despoiling and destruction. It goes without saying that our first and foremost duty is to defend Melencia and its territories.

TSS stands against raiding peaceful (and generally 'goodly') communities - such as Neversummer City. TSS always seeks meaningful cooperation and peaceful resolutions, even where non-evil factions such as Last Alliance and Ragnar's Kin are concerned. In this respect, TSS is not out to attack any adventurer not of The Circle, especially in the case of our allies the Northern Coallition and guilds associated with this faction (i.e. the Fists of the North); case in point: we entertain generally polite, if not sometimes cooperative, relations with the Legendary Bethren and even with the Knights of the Square Table (when the latter feel, ah, amenable  ). However, communities located in the territories of evil factions (such as Ancient Ones, Mystral Ascendency and Shadow Legion) can and will be raided, if only to attempt to liberate the common folk from the evil and brutal rulers who have enslaved them. Likewise, adventurers from these evil factions may be susceptible to hostility on our part, especially if they wantonly destroy denizens of Nature - nonetheless, TSS is tolerant enough to leave the benefit of the doubt, since members of these generally evil factions may sometimes be non-evil. Consequently, this becomes a 'case-by-case' approach. In any event, TSS will never strike first 'evil' adventurers, but will never stay its blade if attacked.

Although members of TSS are essentially from The Circle faction, we are open to welcome any druid, ranger, bard or goodly adventurer who has the same outlook and goals as ours. Further rules and principles of TSS will be posted on a webpage once TSS gains officialdom herein.

Current roster of TSS (classes specified are primary ones):
Elendir D'Organa - ranger
Gorfirind Jr'ei'ren - ranger
Rivvett Hun'ett - ranger (one of the 'Original Three')
Aleah Natureswift - druid (one of the 'Original Three')
Zaranthys Rivermoon - ranger (one of the 'Original Three'; leader/founder of TSS)

Two to three more prospective members are known to us - it remains to be decided by them on whether they will join TSS or not.

Well ...

In any case, you and sir Kromix make good arguments - however ... TSS would first need to be 'officialized' and then I could bargain with the Devs and/or DMs to, somehow, put a 'tag' (e.g. (TSS) ) to the names of the PCs belonging to the guild ... and *then* I could make this *mandatory* for any newly generated character (but already generated PCs who wish to join TSS in the meantime would also need to have their names 'hacked' -for lack of a better word- in order for them to be identifiable in name, at least, with TSS) ...

I am delving in unsure and new waters here ... ;-)

Actually, we can't just use Brother or Sister, the devs say we have to set at least that off with brackets, since it's too generic for a tag, and could reasonally be part of a name for a cleric or monk toon.

Good point ...

So, does this means that all TSS members will have to be 'scrapped', then have to be 're-created' with appropriate tags *and* have to essentially "start from scratch" anew? :(

oooOOO(I hope not!!! )

We will allow your old chars to be tagless. In the future it will be required, to tag your char with a signature so players and DMs know who you are. This can either be done in your name (I believe this is the best way, since there is never doubt about a char then) or the char description where it needs to be in the first line of the description (this is a bit more tricky).

Oh I almost forgot the guild has been aproved.

WE now have been approved. For now, current members will stay the same with regards to their names ... but future new characters wishing to join TSS will have to add the (TSS) tag to their names upon character creation ...
