The Brethren and other guilds

Ok, quick announcement here everyone.
The Brethren at this moment are officially neutral toward all other NS 4 guilds. As far as I know, the only other active guilds right now are KST, Misfits, and probably Death Dealers, though I haven't seen many people from DD around. We have nothing against other players forming guilds in the game, because guilds can help to establish a nice stable player base for the mod.
Any guild that does start messing with us as a whole on a regular basis will be declared enemies, however. I don't mean minor skirmishes between individuals either, I mean repeated coordinated attacks from other guilds. Individual duels are the business of the individuals who fight them. I also don't mind an occasional "friendly" guild war if it's agreed to before hand.
We also make it our mission to defend the lowbies of NS. Those who constantly and consistently prey upon significantly weaker foes except in faction defense will be declared enemies.

A gesture of goodwill from TSS ...

Sir Ander Cain;
I crave an audience with you the next time your wanderings bring you to Avendell. You may not remember me - I am Zaranthys Rivermoon, a ranger of Melencia, and leader of The Silver Striders. We met a few sevendays back under troubling circumstances, when my duty to Melencia demanded that I use my feeble skills at helping the nymphs, sylphs and forest walkers to repel your raid into our territories and at our gates.
Since then I have come to learn that the Bethren is a guild of goodly principles and that those said principles are a direct reflection of your own. Like the Bethren, TSS seeks to protect the innocent and the weak from the forces of darkness (of course, we also have this 'thing' about protecting Nature from gratuitous and wanton destruction (wink)). As you may or may not know, TSS is allied with the noble FoN, has remained so far neutral toward the KST, and has openly condemned the Misfits and their anarchic and purely evil actions. Hence, I humbly submit to you that the Bethren and TSS have much to gain in the long run by proclaiming mutual friendship.
Perhaps this may even lead eventually, in its own way, to some greater peace between non-evil factions and individuals with we of TC - thus achieving a much hoped-for step in healing Aetheria and put an end to the wounds and chaos caused by the Rift ... I hope you will forgive this simple ranger for wishing such things.
I sincerely hope you will consider this humble gesture of peace and goodwill - I understand, of course, if you and I need to put some past, ah, matters to rest first.
Looking forward to meet with you and discuss a treaty of friendship between the goodly principled Bethren and the naturally goodwilled TSS.
Best regards,

Nothing gratuitous or wanton about trying to pick up a few spare Forest Imbued Helms when the opportunity presents itself.

As for the dryads and nymphs; well, I didn't feel like tripping over them while trying to HiPS from the walkers....

The Brethren will only oppose you if you make a habit of killing weaker characters, charging tolls to cross areas, or other such nonsense. You are free to try to kill any enemies who wander into Melencia; those how reaid factions should be prepared to deal with the ... consequences. Otherwise, we have no reason to prey upon you.

I hoped against all hope that a man of 'good principles' such as you would see clearly and understand the tragic consequences of gratuitous raids between non-enemies and how such actions ever lead further downward in the never-ending spiral of misunderstanding, anger, hate, violence and war. It would seem that this humble ranger was sadly mistaken.
Unfortunately, it would also seem that the Bethren's reputation as goodly, and hence the same for their leader, may be somewhat exagerated? I still hope that this is not the case.

Well enough, Ander Cain. Let the Bethren and TSS cross paths with the barest of acknowldegement thus provided by this neutrality that you so champion. I still hope that someday you will perhaps reconsider, at least to some extent.
In any event, know that the genuinely goodwilled TSS will never raid Neversummer City, nor exercise in dubious reasonings in order to provide a semblance of legitimacy to the violent (and in the end, evil) action that is of raiding peaceful, goodly communities.
Know also that TSS will ever stand at the ready to defend Melencia against any and all raiders, evil-doers and despoilers of nature - always to the best of our abilities and regardless of the price to be paid.
Best regards;
