one day some1 asked me if it was possible to change colors of your own text in chat inside the game...i made a little huber mega tiny search and i didn't like wth i found... it seems we have to change a little the script..(dunno wich parte and where) but i heard to... that exist a sort of "keygen" to change color but it seems a little odd that keygen........i'm mega noob on nwn code so i would luv to know if its possible or not to change color on a easy way... without change any code or something like that....
is not i want to use in the game is just a big curiosity

you can shout in blue by typing </c then your message.. you used to be able to type in all colors, but bioware fixed that in some update..

hummmmmm and do u know in normal talk ? or party ? or even pvt?

Are you trying to change the colours so that other people see your messages in a different colour? Or just trying to make them appear in a different colour for you so that the channels are easier to distinguish?

If you only want to change the colours you see (so that you can actually see a difference between party and regular chat), open up nwnplayer.ini and put this in (or change it if it's already there)

Change them to whatever you want, the numbers are just the RGB system for identifying a colour.

btw using diferent colors is any sort of proibition or makes lag ? :S wondering just that.... in my view i think not but i had to ask lol u never know...

The alternate colours and some special characters (in character names) provided a means to hack the game. That's why they were removed, I believe. Forcing colours on other people is rude and annoying if you can do it.

you can still change some colors of texted. but itis not allowed on NS servers.

lol i notice... i tried yesterday only the </c it seems to work :S

I agree with DV on this one. I don't want to see some idiot log on to the server, and start typing with every letter a different color just to be annoying. I know you wouldn't do this Hex, but consider that some noobs, like to log-on and annoy folks, spam the shout, and other general rude behavior.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but after reading DV's post I had a sudden mental image of my message window filled with ridiculous spam, advertisements, and a yahoo image, and I became physically ill.
