A question about crashing ?

I've been playing for a while and usually crash when we are fighting a good size mob with lots of spells flying everywhere. Well last night we were battling some baddies in ns and I lagged really bad but did not crash
I was wondering if it because I put in the cep 1.53 and the cep 1.68. I have not changed any of my Video settings hope to try it again tonite . Just wondering Rev Johnny Lovejoy (maybe could help some others out
