I'm fairly new to playing neverwinter nights on persitent worlds- the only other server I've played on, it's common practice to use the shout channel to find a group to join, then use a special device to teleport to the leader of the group. Since neither of those things seems to be true here, I was wondering how forming groups was handled. This is assuming that playing in groups is the norm, but surely that is the case.

For the most part, people level solo and group to pursue items, quests, etc. There is an item that ports you to the leader of your party, but it's difficult to get, and you'll probably be close to level 40 (in a group of high level toons) by the time you can get it.
