Wizard Guild

Good afternoon. Just got a quick question.
Is it still possible to join the wizard guild in Garagoth? I spoke to the NPC about joining and got a message about Darken Rahl and the Seeker - basically the same information you get speaking to NPCs doing the D'hara area. She also handed me the Crystal of Ord, one of the quest items you can also get from D'haran NPCs.
Am I correct to assume that these quests are linked and that you'd have to defeat Rahl to join the guild? Last time I visited him, the crystal and book quest items didn't appear to do too much, even when activated.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks!

The new D'hara quest has nothing to do with the Garagoth Wizard's Guild. The Garagoth quest was started by a developer waaay before Pros' and my time as developers, and remains incomplete. The items that you found in D'hara are for a D'hara specific quest. I'd suggest reading the Codex and following its instructions after you kill Darken Rahl.

This has been a dead end quest, the wizard's guild, since back in the day when there weren't any expansions. It has been a sore spot in the module for wizard's hoping to get information and/or join a wizard's guild since the begining of the module.
Other quests that seem to lead no where are the priest quest in the temple of helm. There was also a quest in the enchanted forest that was never finished, however, I think they may have added to that one within the last few months when they changed the layout of the enchanted forest.
New quests that don't do anything include the ball of elemental energy that you get from the elemental lord that is for crafting armor of some sort. Please don't turn it into another wizard's guild Fang

I have an idea for that Elemental Fire, but real life circumstances have cut into my development time. A new baby in the house tends to do that sort of thing.

I see. Thanks for the information, all. You saved me quite a bit of frustration.
Congratulations on the new little Fang or Fangette. Hope s/he's healthy and happy
I did read the codex after defeating DR, and I think I used it properly. However, all that happened was that a barrier to another room disappeared. All I found in that room was a pull chain that sent me to the exit. I'll experiment some more. Laughing Boy is due for a beating...
