bard gear and other tweak requests from a humble rogue

any chance we could have bard gear changed from leathers to robes, armour of skald and the like?

also, what about finess chest armour, it just strikes me as odd that dex chest armour, actually has armour that limits your dexterity.

Just a question, but is there any way the smaller Ice shield can be a large Ice shield instead of a backler?

Why make it a large shield? A buckler has advantages, especially for toons that have some spell ability.

I can tell ya why there's a small Ice Shield with one word: Halflings.

Halflings can use large shields, it's the tower shields they can't handle. (Think G1 scale, it turns into either a large shield or a tower shield based on your size).

But I agree with Kell, the measly 5% spell failure on small shields is handy.

Just how many halfie bards are there out there? :)

[edit - forgot about the daisy-eaters...]

halfling bard isn't a bad build, there are no races particularly suited or ill-suited for bard.

perhaps the Large Ice shield could scale like the scaled down scale of the G1?

not all halflings or gnomes are casters, and some of us would like to have that extra point of AC for what its worth. perhaps you could compensate by adding a +1 ac to the shield?

Or perhaps not, since there are already advantages for small stature. I think you'll survive just fine the way it is.

there is ONE advantage for small stature, only one and that is a +1 ac

small stature creatures are limited in thier weaponsize and shield size...

If you want a side by side breakdown I can give you either a module specific one or a NWN as a whole one

Do a NS3.5 specific breakdown then follow it up with the general NWN one. I could use the entertainment.

And +1 ab, and the fact that they're just cooler 8)

You can certainly argue for having the shrunken-down ice shield be a large shield instead of a small (though I prefer small - my bard is a halfling). But adding an extra ac to compensate wouldn't really make sense, since I'm sure a giant shield is going to offer more protection than a tiny one.

in neversummer halflings and gnomes get for small size, +1 ac, s smaller g1 shield that fits nicer in inventory, a smaller g1fang that fits nicer in inventory, the minion shield, and thats about it.

Disadvantages

No decent +5 shield ( large) unless they are evil.
No properly sized Ice shield,
no access to a bettter bow then the "little one" short bow, until triton.
the inability to use staves, halbreds, tower shields, great axes, two bladed swords, DIre axes, greatswords, or longbows.
need I go on?

G1 bow scales to a shortbow, just like the shield/sword/axe.

I have a build that actually requires halfling. The extra DEX w/ rogue as a favored class is a nice feature.
