is ns5 going to be designed to be highly enchanted gear based like 3.5, or is it minimal like ns4?
will race/class/alignment affect gameplay such as hostile npc's, almost clan based like ns4?
will special feats like dev crit be void like ns3.5?
is the server going to be mainly solo based runs, or party based?
any info ont his asap would be helpful for building

On this topic of gear, any info on what changes are going to be made to the crafting system from the OC ?
Also as a side note to other Aussie gamers, if you havent yet purchased the 2 expansion packs for NWN2 im sad to let you all know that i found out today that production of both is discontinued, you cant even order it in at like EB games etc. Apparently they were atrocious sellers and production never went past the intitial run, they decided to cut there losess. Hopefully if you got a credit card you can find someone to ship it to you from the US.
check out Dasaria 2, great server lvl 20 cap no expansions required but if you got em the content is there with like the new prc's etc. its a PW story rp server pvp MUST be roleplayed.
Insane amount of quests to do its one of the best servers for quests, content and just basic planning ive ever seen in nwn gaming for 6+ years. Also DM interaction is frequent xp given for rp etc its a real fun place to learn whats what in NWN2.
see ya round

If you have all the expansions Avlis 2 can be found as Crosstreams under PW Story. It is lvl 30 RP, and you have to apply to play on the server at
www.avlis2.org. If accepted, and I don't see any reason you wouldn't be, you will get an email with a link to the needed hak downloads. I guess worldgate isn't working so you have to install them manually until they get their auto downloader working. They have some changes to some of the classes for the unique world, but everything can be read on their wiki at the website. I encourage you to check it out if you have all the expansions and are looking for a really good RP world.

http://www.dasaria.net
is the site for info forumns etc. You can find it under PW story it also has worldgate and a unique pantheon of gods. Its lvl 20 cap but as i say if youve got the expansions you can still use all the new class/spells/etc content. If you dont have the expansions thats ok too. Oh and it has a totally redun crafting system lol ive not been able to figure the recipes out yet and your not allowed to tell others so its a real challenge but there is a handfull of ppl that know a bit about it and will make gear for you if you RP it

The gear will be more like NS4 gear. Although you will see gear with higher ability bonuses because ability bonuses do not stack in nwn2 except for things like barbarian rage, etc.
ZigZag wrote:will race/class/alignment affect gameplay such as hostile npc's, almost clan based like ns4?
Absolutely.
ZigZag wrote:will special feats like dev crit be void like ns3.5?
Balancing will be an ongoing process. If there is a feat or class that is incredibly unbalancing such as Devastating Critical, then yes it will be disabled right out of the gate (ie: Frenzied Berserker).
ZigZag wrote:is the server going to be mainly solo based runs, or party based
Soloing won't be impossible, but just like in NS4 it's more fun when you're in a party and some content might be inaccessible if you lack a particular class/alignment/feat/spell/skill.
ZigZag wrote:will bards be allowed as the 3 lvls of arcane classing for a palemaster?
One of the prerequisites for Palemaster is that you have the ability to cast 3rd level spells. You will need at least 7 levels of Bard to accomplish this. In any case, like I said before - balancing will be an ongoing process.
ZigZag wrote:will there be an alignment shifting system?
Yes, but there will be restrictions in place so it isn't abused (Barbarian/Monk).
ZigZag wrote:will there be guilds/factions that acctually do something other than say "hey, im in a guild!"?
Yes.

I dont like the sound of thats cely

are you ditching frenzied beserker all ready ?
To me its not really overpowered ive got one on dasaria 2 and 6hp damage a round and substantial ac hit mean that i rarely use the rage. I mean the 2 att instead of one when cleaving is nice and so is the improved power attacks ( remember though that power att and expertise are +3 dam or ac not 5 anymore)
Now if the extra attack when raging stacked with haste and the frenzy stacked with barbarian rage then yeah it would be overpowered, but from what ive seen playing the toon its not that hot - sure he can get some good damage happening lol mines a cheese 4 fighter 1 bard 10 rdd 5 Fb with a greatsword and monkey grip feat for when i need to sword and board. But to be honest the implementaion of so many prc's giving you spells per day AND known spells on every lvl except PM which they screwed up again its spells every 2 lvls, combined with the practiced spell caster feat (interested to see what you plan to do with this) throws casters way out in front of melee toons.
Oh BTW are you guys ditching the 4 classes and/or 2 prc ? was the biggest dissapointment of ns4 only 1 prc. Hehe and how about miniumum lvls , you doing that again ? 5 SD cant have 1 same with pally, monk, etc man so many questions !!

Another good NWN2 site is
http://www.moonlightandshadows.com/portal/portal.php
Arolar, one of the most active DM's and a dev happens to host my Saturday night D&D campaign.
It's another rp server but Arolar is definitely fun.
Today (27 Sept 2009) they are having a Banite wedding.

And that is one of the things i LOVE about Avlis. Very few minors.
