thats right a new expansion pack is announced and is supposedly going to be a open ended world that you can freely explore along with quests and storyline play. the article gives little more than the name and the feel of the expansion no listing of levels or new features yet but it does mention that there will be some new PRCs perhaps a warlock specified one races and spells. it also mention locations such as Chult and the sword coast perhaps Amn and the ability to manipulate the economy and deal in trading lifestyle. it also sais that there will be alot of mutiplayer adjustments and fixes i hope however that the public beta of NS5 wont be delayed by this as its a long ways off i wager.

heres the link to the article on the NW vault

New flavor of install is always pain.

- From the vague description of the travel areas, sounds like we get some sort of new toys to play with.
- Josh Sawyer is supposedly involved in some way, maybe we'll get a fix for the mess the spell system is.
- Probably a bunch of new stuff placeable, tree, tile-wise. If it's in Chult we may get some jungle stuff. (We've tried to do it, with the cc available plus box assets...it's tough to do well outside of thousands of speedtree objects.) Fang is to blame for his stupid area-set description ;)

As far as playing what's in the box, all I can say is finally. Maybe I'll buy more than one game every three years now ;) A bit unimpressive in what they've revealed--it's stuff we did years ago without source access. Also, it's not likely Atari can throw a lot of money into this project.

And they have a few Dave Gaider's posting. People that should never ever ever try to talk about a technical issue. You'd think someone working on the game would know at least the basics of how it works.

Create your own full party of adventurers. Devastate your foes with a squad of fireball-flinging Sorcerers, form a solid wall of steel with a party of Fighters, or strike the perfect balance in your party by spreading out the classes you choose for your characters.

freakin sweet

Yeah...but the one thing that I've been wanting to hear about this whole time in searching through all the articles and blogs about this expansion pack keeps eluding me like an un-nerfed shadowdancer: Are they going to raise the level cap to 40??? :( Throw me a frikkin bone here!

The new content looks hott, new terrains and such. With the new party creation mode, will I be able to play more than one of my toons at the same time in NS5?

Because...yeah...

No, the level cap is staying at 30.

Nope, unless you're dual logging. The party creation mode will be specific to the SoZ Official Campaign, we are not going to implement it in NS5.

There actually is rumors of yet ANOTHER expansion pack after SoZ, so, we'll see.

I don't actually think raising the level to 40 in NWN1 was a good thing though, so I'd be quite content to see the limit stay at 30.

Frankly I'm happy with whatever they put the cap at.
As I don't even have the game yet I really can't complain.

But for planning purposes it would be good to know.

Just a note here for any of you who were frustrated with some of the aspects of NWN2, in my opinion, Storm of Zehir has fixed them. Most importantly, the camera angle issue. I couldn't be happier now with how they fixed it.

Looks like I may be taking a break from NS4 to play NWN2 ;)
