Bard

Description: Bards often serve as negotiators, messengers, scouts, and spies. They love to accompany heroes (and villains) to witness heroic (or villainous) deeds firsthand, since a bard who can tell a story from personal experience earns renown among his fellows. A bard casts arcane spells without any advance preparation, much like a sorcerer. His magic emphasizes charms and illusions, and the bard can also play an inspiring song that strengthens him and his allies. Bards also share some specialized skills with rogues, and their knowledge of item lore is nearly unmatched.

Epic Feats: Arcane Defense, Curse Song, Epic Skill Focus, Epic Spell Focus, Epic Will, Extra Music, Great Charisma, Great Dexterity, Greater Spell Focus, Greater Spell Penetration Improved Combat Casting, Lasting Inspiration, and Lingering Song.

Notes

  • Bard Song and Curse Song have been altered on Neversummer 4.
  • Bards (along with Sorcerers) have the ability to become Red Dragon Disciples.
  • Bards are the only arcane-casters allowed in the Northern Coalition.
  • None of the Sub-Races have Bard as Favored Class.
  • Bards may attain Master Artisan in Tailoring
  • Bards may attain Artisan in Fletching, Leather Crafting, and Arcane Crafting.
  • Having both Lingering Song and Lasting Inspiration feats now causes bard song to last 100 rounds. Normally it lasts 10 rounds, and with just lingering song it lasts 15 rounds, and with just lasting inspiration it lasts 50 rounds.
