Introduction
- The Silver Striders are a guild/clan of rangers and druids, as well as neutral-to-goodly bards and barbarians, based in Melencia. Our aims are to defend the defenseless, protect the innocent and preserve Nature from wanton (read: gratuitous, unnecessary) despoiling and destruction. It goes without saying that our first and foremost duty is to defend Melencia and its territories, as well as our allies (i.e. Northern Coallition).
- TSS stands against the senseless, gratuitous raiding of peaceful (and generally 'non-evil') communities - such as Neversummer City. However, TSS will raid these places in retaliation of raids perpetrated on Melencia by dwellers of such settlements, or in order to recapture The Circle's relic from the Oracles of such settlements.
- TSS always seeks meaningful diplomatic, cooperative and/or peaceful resolutions, especially where non-evil factions such as Last Alliance (and, to some extent, Ragnar's Kin) are concerned. In this respect, TSS is not out to attack any adventurer not of The Circle, especially in the case of our allies the Northern Coallition and guilds associated with this faction (i.e. the Fists of the North); case in point: we entertain generally polite, if not sometimes cooperative, relations with the Legendary Brethren.
- However, communities located in the territories of evil factions (such as Ancient Ones, Mystral Ascendency and Shadow Legion) can and will be raided, if only to attempt to liberate the common folk from the evil and brutal rulers who have enslaved them. Likewise, adventurers and guilds from these 'mostly evil' factions may be susceptible to hostility on our part, especially if they wantonly destroy denizens of Nature ...
- Nonetheless, TSS is tolerant enough to leave the benefit of the doubt, since members of these generally evil factions may sometimes be non-evil. Consequently, this becomes a 'case-by-case' approach. To this effect, TSS will never strike first adventurers from rival and/or 'evil' factions - the only exception to this attitude is with regards to members of a guild who has declared us to be KoS: then any TSS is free to strike first at such members and ask questions later. In any event, TSS will never stay its blade in self-defense.
General Rules
- TSS members will never attack those that are weaker than them, except: 1) while defending ourselves from attacks; 2) while defending Melencia and its territories (and allies like Northern Coallition); or 3) when confronted by members of a guild whose higher-level members routinely attack/kill lower-level members of our own guild (this is called Quid Pro Quo);
- TSS will never take over areas (such as the whereabouts of Avendell) and demand polls and such other things - in fact, TSS will strive as best as it can to remove those who would perform such heinous acts of terror, extorsion and wanton violence.
- although TSS has a guild leader, we function primarily through consensus;
- we like to rp things (at least a little) so all members must do some rp, especially during events both small and big;
- always be respectful of factions and alliances within the game (i.e. no in-faction/in-alliance pking );
- always respect honorably all treaties TSS has signed with other guilds;
- always try to defend Melencia from raids;
- always respect all rules of behavior and conduct of TSS;
- always follow the NS4 Commandments;
- and lastly: always be courteous and pleasant (i.e. adolescent behavior is not tolerated, like shouting crude things and other such immature behavior ) ... the idea here is to have fun and enjoy the world of Aetheria with all its beauty and dangers.
