from what ive read they are the same "faction or group" so if you are a monk and go to the monistary to get some gear you are now hostile to the mercs at ave. this doesent seem to make sense to me as mercs are self serving and chotic or neutral at the very least. so why then are monk toons punnished in this way? i kill some monks several hundred miles away and the mercs magicly know about it and are mad at me now?
this also makes a lvl 13 monk (about the right level to go to the monistary to get gear) a target of cr 20 creatures infront of ave a city that is somewhat essential for non epic toons to have access to.
if the wonderful staff could change the merc group to a new one or the same group as ave itself it would make alot more sense IMO
