Light bulb!
Light bulb!
A wonderful idea just came to me.
Completely remove the xp bonus from the relics. Lets make the game only about bragging rights and nothing more.
Bet that would solve alot of problems.

Zing made this wicked cool place that is all about bragging rights...everyone is scared of it.
anyway, the game is about more than just relics...i would like to see them turned off for a week or so just to see what happens. of course a few of us also decided that maybe we should have a lawless week and see how it goes when there are no rules...hehe

Be careful about using absolutes.Amoenotep wrote:Zing made this wicked cool place that is all about bragging rights...everyone is scared of it.
[Edit] I forgot to add: I bet quite a bit of the "scared" feeling could be alleviated, were it to be demonstrated as being free of bugs. 50% of the publicly recorded battles there resulted in such failure.

But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

Or there is this light bulb of an idea...How about EVERYONE having to learn and go by the SAME rules for a week! That would result in an even more interesting turn of events!

Can we trick you into whining about something so that you will have to be unfair to yourself? Then again if you were fair to yourself after whining then it would be unfair that you were being fair and thus the world would implode.MasterYoda wrote:ok ok if the DMs want they can make me king. Guess thats why you can be king.
Back in NS2 we had these awesome guys known as White Cloaks... and on the North server there was a period of time where we had no DMs, there really werent any rules whatsoever, the server was ruled by guilds and if there was any 'serious' problem it would be taken to a white cloak.
Why not implement a class of people who lie between the plane of being a DM and a normal 'toon. By having a middle man it can help prevent flame wars and some other problems.
Type post, tab tab enter, wait 4page 2 load, shift+tab tab enter, REPEAT!!!

Aye, helping new players and whatnot along the way that sounds like an idea i can get behind. I would actualy be more than happy to help new players find their way around and help solve disputes. I would like to point out i tryed an open forum on thoughts that didnt work out so well, so we obviously need someone to enforce rules since we are unable to do it ourselves apparently.
Is this really a fact? I'm aware of one bug in the early days. I like to hear about bugs. There's a rumour going round that we prioritse them and correct them as fast as we can.TheBestDeception wrote:I forgot to add: I bet quite a bit of the "scared" feeling could be alleviated, were it to be demonstrated as being free of bugs. 50% of the publicly recorded battles there resulted in such failure.
As for the OP. I don't understand why you guys are continually trying to change or fix what isn't broken.
Give me a break, the level of complacency around here is ridiculous. You all wonder why the jobs aren't finished and yet you waste our time with stuff like this!
