Is Mantle the only way to block or counter it?

This whole "blind for a turn with no save allowed" thing seems kind of unbalanced... it drops about 15 points off of AC and makes it impossible to use offensive spells.

Spell resistance works as well.
You can also get rid of it with a restore pot.

not saying its not overpowered, these are just your options.

yeap --

can be removed /prevented with :

spell mantle
spell mantle POTION (havent tried it auctually)
SR ( at high levels you can resist it on an average basis)
Remove blindness casted by casters -- Or by a scroll
or-- kill your attacker b4 he/she can spam you

WOF has been critisized before and it had been determined that it would remain as is ..... for a PM builder im sure that you arent having any drastic problems now are you --you are immune to ALOT of things as a PM , not everything should be cake

Yeah, from what I hear when I crashed you guys still had a hard time killing me.

Spending 10 minutes fighting in the darkness is not very much fun, though, so I'd prefer to avoid the WOF.

I think you missed at least one solution. I'll try it on you later.
