Server burp

Post by izzle2 »

I was minding my own business, walking back to where I had just died, and would probably die again -- when *boot* - I was ejected from the game. At first this seemed like an ordinary game crash, but then I started recognizing signs that it was not. Signs like the game showing up in the Gamespy list and not in my favorites. I was unable to log back in until I changed the port to 60001. Now I can get in fine, but thought you all should know.

Yeah our whole party was dumped making me think it was a crash as well but when we got back in the remains from our most recent kills were still there. Our whole party recognized this as no ordinary crash and some observed the same thing you did with the port change.

Yeah, seeing that here, too - wan't booted, but can't log on, and server doesn't appear in favorites. Same thing apparently as last Wednesday (server out for Wednesday afternoon golf?)

Can you tell those of us with limited computer skills how to affect this "port change" of which you speak?

Thanks

Simple - use "lan game" then "direct connect" and enter the IP followed by the port.

70.191.163.120:60001

Normally the port is 5121, but for some reason our fancy new server prefers this one.

Use ns4.servegame.com:5121 from now on and you wont ever have to worry.

Thanks for help. ns4.servegame.com:60001 worked; 5121 didn't.
