It seems to be acting a bit funky. There were some AO invaders trying to snatch our relic a few nights ago, but I didn't get any drops from them. However, I did get a drop from Redrum recently when I helped to foil one of his attemts on our relic. So I don't know what's up.

the way it was explained to me is that the areas around NS are included in their territory because of the NS jobs include those areas. Most of The SL tunnels that have NPC drow in them are also included as well as the Sleeth Foothills that have Slaves in them. NC has the largest area because of its various outposts and guards while TC has the smallest but includes those areas that have Nymphs, Pixies, Sprites ect... So the surounding areas of each city are included but when the item lost script runs it picks a random equipment slot and drops an item from there if thier is one. So carrying sling bullets, arrows and bolts only means that you may loose them if that slot is chosen but if you don't have anything there it just won't drop anything... The less items you have equiped the less likely you will actually lose something.

Generally, the areas with the defense scripts are the cities themselves, the gates of the cities, and one-to-two areas beyond. The Crossroads fall under that guide (one area away from gates); as do the Sleeth Foothills (one and two areas away); and as does the Hidden Legion Tunnel (one area away). Some of the (non-Hidden) Legion Tunnels are farther away than that, so while they are SL faction territory in a RP sense, they're too distant to be considered the cities themselves to be defended.
The other, more distant areas which are defensible are limited to outposts or shard areas, all designated by the presence of faction guards in the zone. Exempla gratia, Windale (NC guards), Sshanyr (SL guards), the South Wall (LA guards), or the Wyrmwood Road (AO guards). So, while it seems NC has the largest defensable territory, you might lose something in Windale, but you wouldn't lose anything as you headed closer to Daeron until you got to the farmlands and the gates of the city.

Legion tunnels should give you items.
How ever if the player didn't have any bullets, arrows or bolts, thats allready 3 empty slots out of 14, thats over 1/5 of the times you wont get an item.
If you get xp, or the messege that you defended your territory you would also have gotten an item if the slot that was chosen had an item equipped.
