After my third weekend of playing this server, I must say, I'm enjoying the ride. I've gotten both my characters up into high levels and have really started trying to explore the world. My God, this server is ENORMOUS. I dare say, that it's the biggest server I've ever seen. It has more zones and areas than I can remember. I keep finding more and more zones and the high level areas arn't even in yet... LOL

The full pvp and factional aspect of the server is a refreshing change to what I'm used to and surprisingly, a lot of fun. Although some don't seem to enjoy it, I'm having a lot of fun with the thrills of a full pvp server. It gives an added demention of danger lurking around every corner and staying well hidden and out of the way of high level rampaging characters.

The people that are complaining about getting killed by a character that is +10 levels higher than them don't seem to realize its a game and we are all just playing to have fun. If you arn't having fun, I recommend you change servers, there are plenty out there that accomidate non-pvpers. The reason I kill people are because they are not of my faction or my factions allies. Sorry but I don't take the time to examine each person I run across, nor should I have to. If you see someone that is red and you are a lowbie do what the rest of us do, RUN YOUR [censored] OFF!!! :lol: There will always be someone bigger, better, and faster than you. You can either find a way to bring him down or die.

About this no penalty for pvping. I completely disagree with this. There should be a reward and penalty system in place for pvping. Meaning those that kill someone get a minor amount of xp, gold or both, and those dieing should loose xp, gold, or both. As it stands, there is no penalty for pvp. So if someone wanted to be annoying, they could just run and attack the same person over and over and over, keep dying and basicly be an annoyance. This is why people have found other ways to kill you and make it hurt.(ie. summon kill, flesh to stone, etc. etc.)

We should be encouraging people to pvp. It makes for more interesting play, and if you feel you are too low to be pvping, then get in a group with some folks from your faction and protect and hide yourselves. Remember to have fun guys. This is a game after all.

Adding a penalty to ppl getting pk'd would be a bad idea due to the increased grieving it would cause.

My only problem with the pvp is the killing of people that have absolutely no chance to win a fight. But, there will be cowards in the game just as they are in r/l.

i dont think there should be a penalty for being pk'd. it would just get too annoying losing xp all the time to some higher lvl hostile.

however, a reward for it would be great. something like the same xp u would get from a monster thats the same lvl as the person u killed. this would encourage more pking obviously so people should just make better builds, so they can get the xp from the pker. also, there should be an xp penalty if u kill someone from a friendly faction.

I have no problems with being on a pvp server, it is more realistic.
I think the policies are quite ok as they are now.
I also think that the suggestions you made are not very good ones.
Maybe you should get some reward when killing an invader in your hometown, but definitely not out in the open.

Im not the most forum oriented of people but heres my two cents.

PvP is a natural part of just about and rpg/mmorpg or any other game for that matter. It adds flavor to the game and I hope when NS goes full it can develope perhaps into something as big as an all out faction war perhaps NC vs AO get your front row seat tickets now! or something along those lines.

I will say that I find it distasteful when a level 22 runs down a level 2 - 3 and makes their lives miserable. But then again you wanna know where this sort of thing usually happens? Outside of avendell on the mountain trail and around Avendell. You dont wanna be Pked dont encroach on a pkers territory and whats more is if you do get nailed? no one enjoys hearing you swear about it over the shout channel for the entire server to see.

A Pking penalty on its own is a bad idea IMHO we already lose enough exp due to bugs and respawn penaltys. However reward system/penalty system is a fantastic idea on scale for example a kill on someone of equal or greater level nets decent exp simmilar to a monster of the same level while a kill on someone lower nets less and perhaps in the case of a level 20+ picking on a level 1 an outright penalty but its open to discussion.

Most pkers have a Code of conduct and honor beleive it or not. Those that dont form a posse and hunt them down like the dogs that they are :lol:

About the reward and penalty system... Perhaps a scalable system that could minorly punish newbie killers would work out. Say that anyone levels 1-10 could be considered a 'newbie.' It makes no sense for them to pvp as they are too low level, except for other people their own levels. So anytime a higher level character kills a 'newbie' they incur a 'newbie' killing fine of either xp, gold or both. The only problem I see is a person trying to hurt a high level by repeatedly attacking them with a newbie so that they incur this penalty. So it would have to be scripted that if the newbie attacks there is no penalty incured by the other character killing him.

Aside from newbie killings, the xp could start at level 11 and having them count as CR 1 creatures for the purposes of pvp. Then just scale it up from there. Another idea is to have a script determine the difference in levels between pvpers and give a reward based upon the difference.

I agree 100% its fun to be on a different server and pk there, but the annoyng part is newbies whining and bitching. Pking is part of the game and thats it. Different factions fight each other.

I agree that a reward for PVP would be nice, but a penalty is just a bad idea.

I'm playing a Sorc (only Lv 4 or 5 ATM), and last time I played I hit a bit of trouble, I zoned out of Sleeth, and was PvPed by a group of way higher level dudes who were deciding to attack Sleeth for the EXP.
I had no chance to do anything, by the time the screen loaded I was dead, they raised me, and I died again. At the time I thought they were doing it for fun, called them.. many names, and spawned to get away (sorry for what I called you guys, total mis-understanding).
The big thing here was, they weren't meaning to kill me, the automatic AoO that they got when I zoned, or 'stood up' from a raise, was enough to kill me.
This kind of situation happens a fair bit. I dont think there can be any kind of PvP penalty for dying if the people doing the killing dont have total control. And even then you'll get **** people who take fun in wandering around and killing off effortless rated people just to irritate them.

The only thing that i think needs to be changed is the respawn areas need whatever flag the shops have, so you cant PK people at spawn points over and over

level 1 vs level 2 fine
level 1 vs level 3 fine still
for me as long as they remain overpowering its ok. but if its impossible rating already... thats a new thing but of course this should be limited to a certain point... say level 20 vs level 30 is well and good already i have no qualms abt the level 20 dude griefing hehe.
but level 1 vs say level 28 is... wtf
