Faction lost

My toon melanie lose her faction doing an area spell (7th lvl, not epic).

After reset, faction still lost.

May i have an help, plz ?

As a DM once told me as i requested to get my faction back -- "Maybe you should be more careful next time". Need to understand what spells can and cant be casted around your faction npc's.

p.s. I didnt get my faction restored either

How about making faction loss temporary to low level toons. This will help the new people that aren't familiar with our faction system. Say level 9 and below faction resets with server reset.

talk to a DM in game, babyloque - if it's the first time they may help you, especially if you roleplay some heartfelt chagrin; they may ask for some sort of restitution on your part as well. THis has come up a couple times and been discussed in these forums, and the general response has been that casters have to use AOE spells appropriately, and there will be a penalty if you're not careful. If it's not habitual, they may reset your faction.

Who loses their faction at level 9 or earlier? I mean I guess it *could* happen, but I think almost all cases of faction loss is due to relic raiding/defense... and you won't be much good at those levels.

Exactly. I think 25 or 30 is the earliest I've defended/raided. At 9 or earlier I doubt you can even kill a guard or defender so you wouldn't have a chance of losing faction unless you intentionally went around killing citizens, and then you deserve it.

I was using my gust of wind ability and apparently a guard got in the way. While he wasn't bowled over, he was ticked, and him and his buddies chased me out of the city. Luckily, the gate guards didn't care much, and I kept me wind in my robes after that, except when in the wilds.

I was only level 5, and it was only temporarily.

I would also like to point out that running into a group of enemy NPCs is a great defense against spam target abilities like KD, disarm, etc., as it can often make a PC defender think twice about using those abilities. If a warrior toon has to deal with this hardship (like trying to arget 7 KD's per round ) then I would think a mage who can cast 1 or 2 spells a round should be able to manage.

My suggestion to newbies and lower levels casters is "How about reading the forums and Wiki then speaking to other experienced players" ?

Twice I was "told" by players "Well I don't read forums, it's too much of a hassle". So now we're expected to fix "them" because of their lack of desire to learn?

Think about it...
