I'm not sure what you mean exactly. I'm going to assume you miss understood. The / in my statement regarding the weapons was an either or scenario, not both. And if you're saying Your build would have both feats previous to taking your first weapon master level.. Thats just silly. But I digress, change it or dont, fact is it would be nice to see a little diversity in the gear used endgame. And I agree, Qstaffs do have very comparable statistics to any other +6 or +7 weapon, but in the grand scheme of it all it will always fall short in its damage over time totals.VagaStorm wrote:Not to state the obvious, but then you have already taken wep focus and wepon of choise, so unless you plan on atleast 13 wm lvls, that dosent work.Tobias wrote:After your first WM level you have access to all but exotic weapons free of charge. And unless you're going for some novelty build ANY one who is counting on doing a resonable amount of damage goes Flail/Halbred. Considering the damage differences, its plain silly not to.Ajantis. wrote:Quarterstaff is a very good option for a cleric/monk/WM. As is spear. It's an option I've used before with satisfying results. There's a few other melee clerics builds where a quarterstaff is still a viable option when feats for martial/exotic weapons are difficult to implement.

Re: Quarter Staffs...
Give qstaff unarmed weapon attack schedule for monks. Make it a double weapon and give kama schedule for monks w two weapon feats. THEN make it finessable

is it even possible to make a wepon finessable? If so, absolutelyfrogofpeace wrote:Give qstaff unarmed weapon attack schedule for monks. Make it a double weapon and give kama schedule for monks w two weapon feats. THEN make it finessable

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

What if quaterstaves were given some bonus damage reduction similar to double weapons and bows?
Tridents and spears could use some love as well, especially tridents since weapon focus with tridents is bugged and doesn't give an AB bonus.

My my, are we touchy. I didn't put it in capital, nor did I put any exclamation points behind it. Maybe I should just add it as an afterthought next time? Overexcited much?Tobias wrote:Yes STAVES. You found a typo, way to be a douche. Besides a Q-staff could very well have spikes in the ends much like the Flail. But if you want to play the technicallity game we'll be here all day. But you got the point and thats what matters. They need some help. They are a sad, sad item and it would be great to have some variety to the weapon choices we see out in the field of combat.Nyeleni wrote:Staves. And unless you put some sharp point like a spear on it, they wouldn't have any piercing or even less slashing dmg.
But maybe changing the crit range and the multiplier would be an option.
And I'm glad I did, I haven't seen any "staffs" floating around in this thread. Unless you count this one

I'm in favour of enhancing less used weapons however. As I tried with the crossbow. A staff however is as worthy of any attention. Maybe add an additional damage to the base, if enhancing the crit. range is too much work? Although some math. extrapolator might tell us that it doesn't really make it that much better...

Yah, nwnx weaps can make finessable or monk schedule, but that's a big performance hit. Those weap types are defined in the binary, that's not a 2da change.
So we have 3x the number of two handed weaps that are viable now, we must be doing something kinda right

This weapon looks suited monk builds, like cleric monk.
Even better for a wiz/sorc with blackstaff to make the trasmutation feats worth it.
If the finessable option can't be implemented then just add some minor dr on it like longbows.
