what about an item instead
use 1/day hips
they can still use it to escape death, get away and heal (like a second chance)
but cant spam it, have to rest before doing it again.

No, the whole point of Shadowdancing is to use the stealth to stay alive. 1/day isn't good enough, and you'd have to stop and use it.

Check for shadows around... if ur in the open during daylight theres no shadows to hide in (and no you cant hide in your own shadow, but can hide in others)

so you hips then you leave the antagonist/protagonist area and rest/recover
you live
you just dont get to spam it to kill difficult bosses/spawns
or spam it to kill relic defence
or spam it to crash peoples clients
or spam it to cap a relic.
but you do live, provided it's used as a defensive measure instead of the weapon of mass destruction that it currently is.
you also still get to be annoying have the paranoid people demand that someone be in dragon form to spot a stealther/hipser

You don't need hips to do that, you can corner sneak with better effectiveness.
