Re: plz help on this
We as Slaves and our allies that whom with which we choose to party with have traveled the so called path in which is described MANY times for we have many level 40 characters. The 2 boss thing is not a unheard of thing. In our travels of all the levels we acquired we mostly came away with like 3 plus 4 tomes and a few plus 2 tomes. There is some food for thought and by the way - You have a nice day, Ya here!!!

Re: plz help on this
I had the privilege of assisting in some of the testing. The results have already been post.
Now some food for thought from my end of things. As I don't like seeing DM's getting out right blamed as "It couldn't be anything else but DM's.". Wether or not it was a DM, I truly don't know, but from experience as a player with this crew I find it highly unlikely that any DM would do so much in such a blatant way as to stir up controversy and bring blame down on the team.
Any DM with 1% common sense who decided to show what others are calling favoritism, would feed +4 books over a few days. Not all in one shot like what has been discussed here. SO lets assume that our DM's here have more than just 1% common sense and are not fools. I would like to speculate on 2 possibilities.
#1. The drop rate: Yes it is possible, that for some reason, they just plain old lucked out on the drop rate and caught it at the right time. Highly unlikely, but it is possible.
#2. Script Error: It is more likely than not that this is what happened. The drop rate for books just went funky and the folks that caught it were in the right place at the right time.
Some will argue that it couldn't be an error. So I'll ask this. Who here has never ever had their computer crash on them, a program freeze up, an auto reboot when you didn't do anything, a blue screen error, a "Unable to load" error message? Who? If you have experienced any of these problem at one time or another why in the world would you ever except that the Neversummer server would run perfectly all the time?
Erros happen. Some are caught others are not. NS4 shifter crashes are an error. Sd crashes are an error. The devs are constantly working on the server changing this or that, updating, adding, removing, etc... From time to time a conflict can or will occur and it effects something else totally unrelated to what they were working on. It's a game on a computer. Stuff happens. Errors occur on the server just as readily as on your own system. Hopefully not as often.
So I will ask that any of you who are bent on blaming DM's as being the cause of this, to take on the possibility that it just might have been a simple script error or conflict in the scripting. You can bet that the devs are looking as to what might have triggered this bad drop rate. I don't envy their job as there are thousands of lines of scripting that they are going through. Only time will tell.
Thank You All

Re: plz help on this
Nah they just stole all my luck. I've probably spent at least half my time on the server in dwarves leveling characters and never found a book. So all those books that I was supposed to find, somehow ended up in their laps
. No Thor and True, you guys don't have to thank me, I'm glad someone was able to partake in book happiness ;P. I'm so awesome anyway that I don't need books!
But enough of my . . . uhhhh . . . "magnanimous" bravado(bull-feces). Your explanation DM kim was far to rational and logical. I like my zany luck explanation much better, especially because there's the hope that one day it might happen to me

You guys can have my luck, too - Tymorra knows I haven't been using it.
Next batch of luck I get is up for grabs - first come, first serve, I'll send out a shout.
Thanks to the DMs and devs, as always. All sounds reasonable and well handled to me - I'm not sure what the point of this thread was.

Honestly Kim, I would agree with #1 since Bioware doesn't use a truly random number generator but generates a gigantic string of numbers to be used server wide. We have all seen it, 20-30+ attack rolls with not one being over a 4 and the odd 5 20's in row. While all of this is possible it is highly improbable due to the sheer odds, yet this happens on an almost semi-regular occurrence. At least it has happened to me far more often than seems reasonable or possible. So a run of luck runs both ways, at least someone is seeing the other side of the coin.
