Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
Just this week, we were in dorfs, came across an AORK party, they started attacking us, despite our questions as to their level and we slaughtered them. A few weeks back, we were on the mountain, saw a buffed toon struggling, leapt to its aid, and had a buffer beat us to a bloody pulp. The buffee was pretty unhappy about this.
In DE, there were 2 split parties: one of sufficiently low level to split from the other; and it didn't help that the splitting group all were looking at a large number of PWnD and RR as rather unsavoury individuals. It certainly didn't help that someone I consider to be a loot thief and party killer (via bad tactics and the like) was in the latter party. Thus, we split, and ran into Hyk, who was running a map and had brought half the map to us. We started fighting it, asked level. At this stage there was a misunderstanding, and we ensured that the other party knew that we would slaughter them if we met again.
Now, you said when AO/RK went to raid. I assume you include the CoN builds you used to raid? If you decide to use TC toons to raid on behalf of yourself, there is a slight possibility of our turning a blind eye to SL raiding you, or even helping SL. You look upon it as ganging up on you. I see it as making the fight a 6v6 rather than a 3v3v6.
Basically, one could say that in war, a side must fight fair.
No.
France and Britain were historical allies, but they united against the Germans.
Now, I don't actually care if thats right or not, blah blah blah, but again, I for one never parties with AORK in raiding SL during that period of SL dominance earlier last year.
You say AORK was low on people, and yet when we raided we found 10 toons clustered into the relic room. I think it was 6 people in RK/AO logged in prior. Dual logging makes me not care so much about that.
Its called tactics, rainswept. AO is easier to raid when PWnD isn't there. ... Would never have guessed that. We still raid SL, but I god damn hate running to SL! When they're in AO or MA, its SO damn easy to find raiders willing to join you. RK/SL, its a hell to get there.

I enjoy you telling half the story mining, considering you would repeatedly attack toons on your hipser in Skara, so maybe thats why the AO/RK party attacked you in Dorfs.

Really? I don't recall playing that toon in Skara in over 4 months, or using it to kill toons. Maybe you're thinking of another HiPSer, like the RR one that killed Sancreed three times in skara.

The replies since Neil's viewpoint of 2 factions are interesting. Some good points were made, I never really think about the custom logins too much, I personally have them so that I can lend toons to my friends, especially crafters. The "Reaver" naming scheme is admittedly used in part to keep people guessing, but there are rules in place governing behavior pretty closely of anyone using a toon named Reaver. I am considerably less vocal and careful to avoid anything remotely questionable when logged in as a Reaver. That's the idea anyway, I won't claim it's always been perfect, but I can say that I've never once been banned from this server for behavior, nor do I get the tells of "Reaver did this and this and this" that I get about some PWnD or named RK toons... So I don't think of that as much of a problem.
The real thing I find interesting, however, is that you can simply look back at these posts and clearly see how the non-AO/RK people see it one way, and the AO/RK people see it another. The separation is there.

Maybe you need to separate normal relic warfare vs. the last relic event, or separate what actually happened from what you think happened... I SAY AGAIN: There was NO collaboration between SL/MA and TC/NC at the last event. If you want to call us liars, so be it... you obviously have your mind made up as to what you THINK was going on.Rainswept wrote:The separation is there.

So your contention is that it's 2 factions during normal play, but 3 for that one particular even?

Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
No Rainswept that's nonsense. Yes players form different factions to help others raid a faction that is powerful at the moment. You know this as I remember raiding TC with you and Tru3Falc3. But people are soon going at each other again.Rainswept wrote:So your contention is that it's 2 factions during normal play, but 3 for that one particular even?

Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
I've raided SL in a party with PWnD before logged in as a TSS. Glow sent me a tell, and I think glow is a pretty decent guy, so I did. I brought a few TSS along, and they weren't too bothered by being with a bunch of PWnD. It doesn't take much.
I think a lot of the PWnD and RR guys can seem a little cut off from the server because they never respond to shouts looking for parties or shout to form parties. When it comes to level 40 planar runs, I stick with the people I know, but for the more casual leveling parties, I'll go a long with just about anyone, and I can hardly remember the last time I was in a leveling party with a PWnD or RR, or even tLB, except for a small party in DE a while back that had one PWnD, and he didn't really talk to us much.

And this has gone way off topic. before I lock it as we are less than a week away from he event (you know that thing that this thread was started for) i will allow it to get back on topic. for those that want to talk about the actuall event please continue.
In good faith the thread remaines open for a bit longer. lets see if the adult in us can come out.
