I'm just wondering if I build a non drow or tiefling char and I'm a sd I will suffer the negative 40 to hide as they would when fighting a assamir?

Yup, it applies to all SD, as the light is revealing. AFAIK...

The question is:
If an assamir with his/her aura active encounters either a drow or tiefling with their aura's active, will their aura's cancel out that -40 hide penalty, as well as the blindness? Or just the blindness effect cancelled, leaving the -40 hide penalty intact?

First: It's Aasimar, NS4-wiki has it wrong

Second: (wiki is your friend sometimes) Aura: Gives off a bright light, Hide penalties to anyone entering it, and blinds Drow and Tieflings who enter it.

As tested, the one affected is the one moving into an aura. Afaik...

PS: And get another avatar already, blood, it's really a shame that you had to borrow yours from a dm...

Its not the same as Tef's. His is blue and white, where mine is white and blue. Check the properties of my avatar, and Tef's. You'll see their not from the same HTTP.
