A zen archer doesn't need keen senses as much as a melee spotter since he can stand still and be in detect mode. Just gotta be quick on the detect mode but not any less so than a HiPSer has to be on his Stealth mode. The biggest problems that I see is you'll lose some initiative against a good HiPSer and of course if the HiPSer attacks at range where the modifiers are heavily in the HiPSer's favor against being spotted. You counter these things by setting up against a sneak in confined areas--What am I doing! I don't need to give tactical advice to BB, that's just plain silly for a noob.

Anyway I think that should work. Maybe make a cl/mk/sd lorekeeper zen archer so you can counter HiPS with HiPS, or instead of doin that, go with a cl/mk zen archer with travel and knowledge domains, get that clairvoyance/clairaudience and haste. If you can have a bard handy you should be able to spot and turn just about any sneak out there into a pincushion. Just some ideas that I think could work though to be honest I've never tried em lol.

Yeah, but I'm talking about Elves in constant detect mode. Its a bit harder to have to switch constantly into detect mode to find someone, then attack, then have to detect mode all over again. Its much easier when you're plain in it all the time without even thinking. Although I should pick up on a Lorekeeper Zen Archer to see how that would work out, need to test that race out.

I was reading an earlier reply about the pure pally's not being much good. Well even without the pure class bonus, they can be very deadly. Especially now witht hose bonuses added, lol, I thought the pure fighter class bonus was good. I cant wait to see some lvl 40 pally's goin around soon :).

oh pure pally's are good , i mean mines lvl 26 and now has a buffed ab of 50/51 depending on bulls and splendor rolls Vs. Evil and Neutral things.

You can add 7 more for lvls to 40, i believe 3 more for +10 holysword - mines +7 ATM thats 60 right there, maybe a cpl feats and better items and your heading for about 65 AB.

Chuck in your taunt, your damage immunities, the ability to make ppls buffs all disapear with the purge, the ability to raise and at 40 the divine aspect thing thats going to make ppl fall down and grovel in a wail like radius and i would say the only problem a pure pally has is Shadowdancers and no speed boosting though NC and LA jobs fix the later. AND if you go the dexer pally you can take blinding speed as well.

The ideas and stuff seem to be getting better with each pure class the devs do - i cannot wait to see what the possible ideas for pure rangers are going to be !!!
Good Day!, I Said GOOD DAY !
