What? i cant solo?
was playing on reflections leveling a toon who was lvl 4 at the time. another player asked if i wanted to join their lvl 5 cleric im not gonna say who cuse thats not what this is about. anyway i declined his offer stating that i prefer to solo especaly at low levels where a party is usaly overkill and makes the game too easy. his responce was that i should leave NS4 and he kicked me from party. i asked him what was his problem and he responded he didnt have one and i should look at myself for the 'problem". i then asked him why i cant enjoy MY game the way I like it. he respnded that i can but i should still leave. this was the end of our conversation as i stoped careing.
now ive pissed people off before but this was totaly bizzare IMO as i did nothing except not help this person level their toon. i know im not the only person who likes to solo on NS but i want to get the mass opinion on the subject of soloing. i usaly only solo to lvl 20ish as after that it is a bit more difficult and having a party doesent diminish the difficulty to a walk in the park.
anyway give your opinion and views on this.

The only similar experience I've ever shared is just plain bad parties. I've only had one I can really consider bad. Some may not be efficient, but they try. The bad one just had a high level cleric follow them up the mountain and were really rude about it. Made them think they owned the place, and made me waste several scrolls raising them after they died fighting in a level 13 region as level 7s.

i dont like solo'ing much at all myself...if i have to solo, id soon be logging out cause i find it slow and boring. so i cant say ive had this kind of experience, im normally the one logging out..seeing whos my lvl...and asking if they wanna party. ive gotten the "i just wanna solo" response plenty before...sucks for me, because i know i just wont play long soloing myself heh...but i dont hold a grudge against that person or anything.
so ya, weird.

Very odd, but different people have different attitudes towards the game. I personally would have pk'd him to no end after that, bit like I said... everyone has their own style.
Power is not given. It is taken.

Ya ya ya I know... stop whining, complaining, and learn to build better.

I'm the opposite to BannyD. I enjoy soloing specially at low levels. Gives me a chance to grow into the pc that is on it's way up.
Aarkon: To party or not to party is NOT the question. It is as you said, what YOU enjoy. Your pleasure is your own and no one else's.
As far as someone copping an attitude with your because "they feel like you should be obligated to help them level". Ignoring them is the best thing you could have done. Just level faster than they do and really piss them off. Make them feel sorry they didn't respect you.
I use to have similar problems during my 4 years of soloing. For some reason that I can't figure out the mass of invites have stopped.

I've done enough soloing personally. My first character on the server was a Level 7 Rogue Halfling that was trying to Weapon Finesse a rapier. And considering its not possible to Finesse a two-handed weapon, he had horrible attack bonus. He was horrible everything. Soloing him to level 7 took...months.
