Clothes Alterations

Alright this comes from playing another server, the ability to change the look and color of any items visible but no cloaks. It runs through "mirrors" and they can be found along with there scripting on the nwvault.

Just do a search for Gigaschatten engine, he is one of if not the best scripter I have ever met he is responsible for the Role Play server Arelith, which even got interviewed by Bioware ...

So yeah just a suggestion, I bore of not being able to change my look.

So any chance of being able to alter the way something looks other then "Dyes" seriously PLEASE!!

There are ways to do this without having chance of exploits.

That is the link to the Gigaschatten Engine, not saying replace then one you got, but take the script from the Distorted Mirrors .. they are decorative and usefull! There are Prismatic Mirrors for colors as well but there are already Dyes.

All the scripts and conversation files are already compiled for the Mirrors in his Mod to.

That is all *pouts*

I want to be able to change the shoulders, arms, legs, pelvis, torso etc etc of my clothes/armor/helm.

You can change things to robe, change your armor appearance, and it can't be exploited like the crafting menu that is disabled.

I don't want this engine to be used, I was just saying the scripts for the Mirror (a placeable item) is compiled in that mod I linked to for ease of the devs.'

Also I have seen it implemented on another server and it induces no lag effect. How about, implement it Devs and I will donate $50 *waves his e-dollars around*

Come on is that motivation for this little thing!? Oh and I am serious!

Ah now I know a Dev has seen this, I am content that if it is seen as a benefit it will go in.

This is one feature I would love to see in NS4! I too find it of lame that the I cant modify the looks of my armor to make it look different from everbody else running around with a _____ Iron plate etc.

You know you may be right, replace the helmet alteration with that so they can choose to alter the look of there armor/robe etc as well as there helmet ... sounds like a good thing to me anyway.

YES YES!! but I do want the helm mod too.. just make several npcs in the helm mod room - one for each segment of armor mod! That'd be great, NS3 lets you craft/mod most armors which is really expensive but it makes your toon feel so much more unique in the world...

My thoughts exactly Celorn, I mean I want to see my staff on my mage different to the others, or I want to see my robe look wtf awesome etc.

And being a part of the DM prize room is fine, and if you use the Distorted Mirror placeable you only need the one thing in that Prize room, cause you can select what part of your outfit can be used.

I suppose you could add weapon alteration to

It's interesting to see how people design their characters sometimes, and the way I've seen it done on another server is to have a model in a shop. That model activates a script asking what part you would like to change. Once you've made all necessary adjustment, there is an option to transfer the appearance to your character. Now there is also an option to transfer your current appearance to it, so you don't have to recustomize every time you get new equipment, and of course this is not a free feature of the game. It's kind of like going to a seamstress and geting something personalized.

For the record, nice feature of some servers, but not the reason I play the game.

Well, customization WOULD give me another reason to log on anyhow... pretty much done making lvl40s except for the 2 I have on the way up..

i have always wanted the ability to customize my armor. i hate looking like everyone else with the same robes or whatever. this has always been something i wanted in NS so if its implemented...hoo-rah!
