prestige classes

Can the prestige classes be of any faction, assuming its not a unique prestige class. By which i mean there is a class restriction for factions but no prestige class (aside from the unique prest classes) restrictions for each faction?

If I understand your question correctly, you wonder if there are prestige classes for a class allowed within a faction that cannot be chosen due to faction? If that is what you mean, the answer is yes. For example, the bard is allowed in the Northern Coalition, but the Red Dragon Disciple cannot be chosen if he is in that faction, because it is unique for the Ancient Ones faction. Was that what you asked?

Is it possible to play a bard/arcane archer in the northern coalition? Since Arcane Archer is not specified to be a "special" prestige class. Of course, the alignment would be in line with the requirements of the coalition

When we get a bit of clarification of the prestige class rules this might affect a lot of builds and faction choices. When they said that NS4 was going to be a "LOT different than NS3" they werent joking.

well, i havent seen it written anywhere... but someone who is in closed beta sed that u cud only have one PrC....

and i wondering what the "ruling" on that is...

Right now there is a limit of 1 PrC per character. That may change if it seems like it's too restrictive.

Why *wouldn't* it be allowed? Although the name indicates some arcane connection, there is more or less none

i actually think that one prestige class per character is a good rule, prevents uber twinkie combo's *cough*RDD/PM*cough*

infact, i may implement that in my PnP games.

i reckon 1 PrC seems fair, Like mod said prevents the uber builds going out, some of the builds we got now in NS3 would really unbalance NS4

In anticipation of more PvP activity in NS4, I have spent much time and effort developing several characters who I feel would do well in a PvP setting. To date, I have three. After reading the faction and prestige class restrictions that will be in place for NS4, here is the fate of my three prototypes.

1. Cannot be played.
2. Cannot be played.
3. Can be played but only with an evil alignment and no choice of faction.

Do you mean I actually have to use the "recommend" button?

blue star.... if you could only come up with three.... your probably using ns3 logic

you dont need to make uber twinkie builds anymore! they dont apply to ns4! and on top of that, and ns3 character(without gear of course) would probably suck in ns4!
