Basically, I'd like to see a limitation of generic DR and physical immunities, adding some penalties to wearing these "tank" items. The light gear would be used to avoid getting damaged, the heavy gear would be used to absorb lots of damage, and the medium gear would be a compromise between the light and heavy gear. Just some ideas to throw around.

Basically, I'd like to see a limitation of generic DR and physical immunities, adding some penalties to wearing these "tank" items. The light gear would be used to avoid getting damaged, the heavy gear would be used to absorb lots of damage, and the medium gear would be a compromise between the light and heavy gear. Just some ideas to throw around.

if i recall correctly nwn2 follows d&d 3.5 rules, which means that the damage reduction system has been reworked and no longer has a bypass enchantment number.
basically it's all dr x/<type> now. so stoneskin is now dr 10/adamantine, for example. no amount of enchantment bonus will bypass it, but any adamantine weapon will.
you can have say, dr 10/magic, in which case you have dr 10 vs all weapons unless they are magic (of ANY bonus), which will bypass it.
so no need to engineer things to take stoneskin or premo or anything else into account.
under your scheme gmw remains useful, however devs will have to decide whether to allow more than one enchantment on a weapon before we can see if gmw is worthwhile (if you can't flame + gmw... gmw goes out the window past a certain level).

I'm wondering what the PRC rules will be since there are more of them, modified ones and the possibility to make 3-prc toons! (will ns5 be 2-prc max? or 1 like 4.0?) I think you could hold off the limit if you divide up the PRCs per faction in a creative way -- to eliminate uber-cheese.

i had an idea of limiting the number of PRC levels you can get by the number of clasees you have. IE if you want a 30th level RDD you need to be pure bard RDD or sorc RDD if you add another class your RDD is limited to 25 lvls or whatnot.

With NWN2, since you already have to download something, hak isn't a big deal anymore, and we plan to make that as easy as possible. So that opens up changes to classes, spell lists, etc that weren't available to us on NS4 and below. PRCs will need to be gone over (just like every spell/ability/etc).
Epic levels that soon though, bleh...at least we know about them this time and Obsid devs expressed that they wanted to do the epic content better than Bio did.

Give a command that allows a summoner to command his creature to target the same thing he is.
All to often, my summons will ignore the biggest threat (the one i myself am concentrating on) and run off to kill some randomly close mob, or one of the mobs summons, or a mob that isnt a problem at the moment. (and yes, i know about the guard master command. but when you're fighting against a group, still dosnt help much)
