Wyvern Crown of Cormyr
Wyvern Crown of Cormyr
Has anyone read about this NWN1 update? It's an official Bioware premium module (supposed to be the last too), no hacks or anything, and allows you to ride horses and introduces a new prestige class: Purple Dragon Knight. I'm not sure how the horses work, but from I read I believe you can change their apperance... it'd be cool if the horses looked different depending on the faction... so MA/SL horses would look evil, and NC's would look good or something like that.
The module allows flowing cloaks, tabards, and long coats. It also introduces new tilesets of course.
Anyway, just wondering if there's any thought about this from the developers. I hope that if there's a want from the players for this, that the developers will consider implementing this somehow in NS4... it's a pretty dramatic update... the first prestige class since HotU!
Here's the stats for the Purple Dragon Knight btw... seems a bit underpowered, could use a boost if it were on NS4:
The famous Purple Dragons of Cormyr are regarded across Faerun as exemplars of disciplined, skilled, loyal soldiers. Their reputation is deserved partly because of the heroic actions of their leaders, the Purple Dragon Knights. Purple Dragon Knights develop uncanny skills relating to coordinating and leading soldiers. Most are fighters, rangers or paladins, but a few bards, clerics, and rogues have been known to become Purple Dragon Knights. Sorcerers and Wizards tend to join the War Wizards, Cormyr's elite brigade of fighting spellcasters, while barbarians are too undisciplined, and druids and monks too "uncivilized" in Cormyr to enter this career.
- Hit Die: d10.

To address this question, CEP 2.0 is not listed in the system requirements along side SoU, HotU and NWN v. 1.68. Some of the content from Wyvern Crown was included in CEP 2.0, but they didn't tie it into the requirements from the look of things.Amoenotep wrote:i thought that premium module used the CEP2.0?
Sadly, I can't find any info on when the 1.69 patch is scheduled for release.

This came straight off the bioware store site.
Wyvern Crown of Cormyr cannot be hosted on a dedicated server.
Wyvern Crown of Cormyr is intended as a single player adventure and does not support multi-player.
It seems that the powers that be never meant WCC to be fully utilized by the NWN community with the introduction of NWN2.

Though the mods are somewhat of a hak lately, or so I hear...
My understanding is that, if it becomes standard content with the 1.69 patch, it will be available to add to the NS mod. It IS, however, up to DD & Co. to decide how/whether to implement said content.

MLoki, I totally agree! When I first saw the Trident i was like "WTF?!"... seems so out of place...
I wonder if the dev's could do some scripting to emulate a focus in that... like perhaps if the player has Weapon Focus and Epic Weapon Focus in Spear it grants the user a +3 attack bonus higher than the enhancement bonus of the Trident while using a Trident.
So, if someone with Epic Weapon Focus: Spear equips a +5 Trident, the player gains a +8 attack bonus... this won't stack with the Trident, but instead gives +3 (net total)... the same as an Epic Weapon Focus + Weapon Focus... or it only gives +6 attack (+1 net total) if you have Weapon Focus, but lack Epic Weapon Focus.
There's some weaknesses with this of course... doesnt' emualte improv. Crit: Trident, it allows a +5 trident to pierce through +6 damage reduction, and a spear isn't a trident... they're similar though.
I personally don't use two-handed weapons, so I wouldn't use it anyway.

Unfortunately, the way they handled the tilesets in Pirates of the Sword Coast was to have them be downloadable as a separate HAK - an 'official' HAK whatever that means, but a HAK nonetheless. So, since the tilesets didn't come down automatically with the updater, we made the decision not to use them. A poor move on Bio's part, but what do you do. The tilesets were nice, but not a huge loss.
Tilesets for Purprle Crown are very nice, but are likely to be handled the same way...
