an interesting idea might be to create virtual subclasses that you earn through feats.
spell focus in conj AND evo AND divination would start you on the path to a Storm Namer (or something with a catchier title) : You get an *additional* bonus to the following line of spells (maybe through a special token you quest for?):
gust of wind, sound burst, ice storm, fire storm, call lightning, lightning, chain lightning, thunderclap, incendiary cloud, storm of vengeance, sunburst, meteor swarm (a little something in there for every casting class)
greater focus in all three schools nets you a greater bonus, capping off with epic focus in all three for a 10% chance to affect a target even if they make their save or have an immunity to the effect.
by combining some of the lesser used spell focuses in this way you make an interesting option for a caster to gain some style in a new direction. a Mystic Defender could combine divination and abjuration for excellent bonuses to defensive line spells. Death Dreamer: Illusion + necromancy spell focuses bonuses STACK for illusion spells, and can bypass immunities at the Epic level.
then you're not Just Another Wizard, but it pays to ask "what kind?"
virtual subclass: Storm Namer
Cool, but given that NS5 is currently being worked on, I wouldn't count on it.
