Assisting new people

Post by Metis »

I have seen a lot of new people coming to NS4 which is great. How much you want to help them or not is always entirely up to the players but I ask everyone to let new players know just a couple of things that will make it easier on the staff.

1. If you have a real technical issue state the problem on the DM channel. The DM channel is not meant for asking about different builds, or any advice on what to build. The reason I say state your problem is there are dozens of "DM on?" or "anyone there?" or my favorite "we died can we get a raise" those are the types which are usualy ignored, we do enjoy the RP, so if your group is in peril a nice prayer MIGHT save you otherwise state the issue and wait for a reply, if none after a while wait and try again later.

2. The staff cannot replace any item/gold/xp due to a crash, we all hate them but they happen. This also goes for items lost at the shops same thing we hate to see it but these are things that cannot be verified and realisticaly if the server did crash with 30+ people on its impossible to go through each person and replace whatever.

3. Chase is great :D //edited for accuracy

So if you long time players could relay these couple points it would be very helpful. Game on and have fun :D

You can do whatever you want within the rules this is a request to help the staff save time on 2 issues, not a huge request.

I started just over a months ago and Neversummer was the first online persistent world that i played in. Thus far the people are nice and most of them are very helpful.

The only thing that i found hard was for people to give me advice on builds since many aspects of the game aren't the same as the single player game. For example, there are no perma haste items and even with haste, we can't cast an extra spell a round. I also haven't found any good advice on advantages of pure builds. I saw a post a while back for a pure fighter item that sounds nice but what about other classes?

Be on that, I only ask that people don't stab naked looking players in the Jud Square of never summer because it sucks to walk out your first building in to the town and getting stabbed out of no where for 60 hp.

Have fun all :)
