New Genasi Fix (posted in News/announcements)

So if I want to play a Nuetral cleric with the Earth Domain I HAVE to be an Earth Genasi? Shouldn't it just be the other way around so that other domains can be used by clerics... I agree with Genasi having to pick the domain related to thier element but to restrict the domains to the specific Genasi seems a bit harsh. Can this restrict builds already in progress if they aren't a cleric yet and want to pick Fire Domain as a Nuetral Drow for instance?

If you want a genasi you have to take the domain, no genasi doesnt matter (except by faction requirements)

From documentation:

Air Genasi
Air Genasi Clerics must take Air as one of their clerical domains

Earth Genasi
Earth Genasi Clerics must take Earth as one of their clerical domains

Fire Genasi
Fire Genasi Clerics must take Fire as one of their clerical domains

Water Genasi
Water Genasi Clerics must take Water as one of their clerical domains

Any Nuetral cleric would include other races as well... So must would make all nuetral clerics choose a genasi to go with there domain. So I was just clarifying what shouldn't have been fixed in the first place... It made more sense before the Fatzo errata.

All people making a Genasi-cleric build:

A) Muet be Neutral alligned
B) Must Take the domain related to their respective Genasi type as one of their two available domains: either Earth, Air, Water, or Fire.

Fatzo is 100% correct. The spirit of what Metis was saying was pretty clear even though the wording wasn't 100% perfect.

If you have a Genasai, your alignment must have at least one aspect of Neutrality to it (IE, Neutral Good, Neutral Evil, True Neutral, Lawful Neutral, Chaotic Neutral). If you are a Genasai Cleric, you must also have the domain corresponding to your element as one of your chosen domains.

As to what happens to the already level 40 Travel/Trickery Genasai Clerics or those with improper alignments, that remains to be seen. Some DM's consider it an exploit to purposely have the Domains when its a long standing well known issue we've been having.

Depending on what happens, best case senario for those with the improper domains is they're allowed to relevel their characters with the same exact build, only with the having the correct domain. Worst case is something nasty happens to you.
