ok I am about to start in on the crafting game (i know that upgrading is borked at the moment) and I have a few questions for you master crafters out there.
I've got a wm/bard that it turns out ought to be able to go all the way in crafting (wm doesn't appear on the list that hoses you ability to hit master craftsman). I'm level 26 (12 bard) now, should I start the craft grind now while xp is relatively easy to get? or is crafting your way up not too xp intensive and it doesnt matter when you start? I'm trying to level up fast so i can group with some friends, but i can take a detour now if it means less angst later.
also, i'm slated to hit level 27 bard, is that enough to do all the tailor crafting in the game? is epic crafting coming soon, anybody got a link with more details on that?
lastly, is there a list of all the arcane craftable stuff (i have a separate arcane crafter just getting started).
if you have any general strategies or tips on getting the most out of the craftsman experience, please let this n00b know.
thanks!

i believe that any multiclassing pRc or not can effect your crafting abilities....

I was going off the list in the General Crafting page on the wiki, where it has a list of classes that will keep you from hitting master craftsman. is there a more accurate list of exactly what classes are allowed/not allowed?
also, are the multiclass restrictions a result of a bug?
I'd prefer not to roll up a bunch of "crafter only" toons, if i can get double duty out of some of them it would be nice.

the whole point of a crafter is devotion. you devote yourself to the set class and thats it... multiclassing defeats the purpose.. it is not a bug.

Re: crafting 101
I always start crafting when I hit level 16 since Arctic Wolves are easy and plentiful (for characters with good reflex saves). Eventually I level to 19 in order to reach Master Artisan.disastro wrote:I'm level 26 (12 bard) now, should I start the craft grind now while xp is relatively easy to get?
You should be able to reach Master Artisan in Tailoring as well as make level 25 upgraded items. However, you will not be able to make level 30 through 40 upgraded items. Please keep in mind I've *never* rolled a multiclassed crafter, I'm just interpreting what's in the Wiki and NS4 documentation.disastro wrote:also, i'm slated to hit level 27 bard, is that enough to do all the tailor crafting in the game? is epic crafting coming soon, anybody got a link with more details on that?
The Wiki is lacking in this department, hopefully some of the MA Arcane crafters out there will find some time to add their items.disastro wrote: lastly, is there a list of all the arcane craftable stuff (i have a separate arcane crafter just getting started).
I'm pretty sure most everyone rolls "crafter only" toons just in case. NS4 is in a constant state of change these days and you don't want to screw your pure class crafter up since some of them are demonstrably more difficult to level. The only exception would be Arcane crafters since they can make plenty of useful items that don't require Master Artisan status.disastro wrote: I'd prefer not to roll up a bunch of "crafter only" toons, if i can get double duty out of some of them it would be nice.
