Transition Death...
Transition Death...
Before the flames start flying I did a search for this and came up with nothing. So I am asking this here...
Can someone please explain the problem with transitioning and then dying?
I transitioned in ogre pass with one hit point and and wham-o dead!
Is this a bug in the code with either bioware or NS?
I dont really care about the xp hit or gold loss, as it doesn't take long to get it all back.

Were you bleeding out(-10-0) before you got up and transitioned? I've found that you'll generally get a transition death if you immediately run for a transition after getting up from nearly bleeding to death.
Serving NS4 proper as Lathander and Sleeth as Bahamut.
Yes, I'm a DM, but your build still sucks.

or like a player once told me "where you under the influence of spell (Endurance) or just about any spell that may have increased your HP a bit" then went to differnt map then sat then BOOM dead. well then thatll be due to the Endurance getting dispelled. and actually revealing your true status DEAD.

Yup, seen this happen too, without any endurance buffs either.MLoki wrote:Although I have seen transition death just after buffing and with full HP. These are still unexplained since thier should be no reason for these deaths and they do happen occasionally. It can be a real problem if you are soloing an area but only a mild nuissance in larger groups.

the transition bug i think may just be the oldest bug out there. i find it happens to me just after i stop bleeding out and make a run for it. OR if you are buffed and the buffs eqaul more then your origanal hit points unbuffed.
like if without the buff your hitpoints would be -negative and you transition then i find i would die also.
just woke up hope it makes sense

Supposedly it's something like the mod uses a flag to determine whether when you have negative HP you're 'bleeding', or just plain 'dead'. this flag apparently isn't unset when you just get up (so if you leg it straight for the boundary after getting up you're pretty much guaranteed to die), but is unset when you heal yourself (usually).
If you make sure to use a healing item or two once upright (don't just rest to regain HP) and leave it a few seconds for lag this will cut out most of it.

these are my observations on the transition death,
if you die and have clicked on the "wait" tab and you are raised there seems to be more of a chance to get trans death bug whether you rest or not, this goes for any divine interventions from the gods as well with the long distance heal tool.
but if u are on the "you are dead screen" and you are raised, i find it happens less so.
just my 2 cents maybe the devs can check it out just my theory but i believe I have noticed a pattern.

Wow! Talk about getting the bad with the good...lol.
Is this like getting a wish from a genie? You get the wish but it never turns out the way you wanted. Thanks for the feedback, now if I can just file that away in some area of my brain that hasn't been damaged by alcohol or accidents. I think I have an area to overwrite...it held everything I knew from before NS...LOL.
