Ice giants with axes...

So we're fighting the ice giants. All four of the giants were swinging huge greataxes (NOT scythes).

Yet when I got criticalled it became painfully evident that they were not in fact doing slash dmg.

They were doing pierce dmg.

I was using the lvl 16 NC armor and shield which give 10 resist slash, 10 resist peirce, 50% immunity slash, and 50% immunity cold. Yet when I read the combat log it showed only 10 physical dmg resisted and 50% cold immunized.

Why are they shown swinging huge slashing weapons yet they are doing piercing dmg?

maybe the Giant's axe had a pierce ability?
