Disable Traps Skill

Just a question, could the disable traps skill be made to recover components from existing traps? Or if you could have some epic level traps in the planes that would be good too. I'm not expecting this to be a priority as there are only around 3 people I know of with high create/disable/set traps skills.

If it's high enough, they can Recover the whole trap for later re-use.

Yeah but coffers full of mid level traps isn't a lot of use.

An anvil like item that takes traps and disassembles them into components sounds like a fairly good idea actually. Then your search and disable trap skills can contribute to your trap crafting rather than being having to rely largely on random drops.

J-Mart has over a container full of trap components for sale.

It seems like holy water, acid flasks, alchemist's flasks, and thunderstones drop much less frequently than knuckles, quartz crystals, or coldstones, but I do have some of everything.

If your on prime, I'll buy them. I usually give a pretty nice item for a box. or 100gp per component.

Reflections.

The box isn't for sale, just the components. 100gp isn't much considering how much inventory space the non-stackable components take up.

Aye, it'd be nice if they could make all of the components stackable, or the non-stackable a bit stronger.

Actually Negative and Electrical traps are the 2 strongest when it comes to damage, and frost trap is in the high end as well.

Let's hope Elvin doesn't die in the explosion as well ;).

If doing this in Avendell or any of the faction cities and the trap explosion manages to maim or kill a native or worse ie. a guard, will the toon become hostile to that faction etc ?

Emm you buy the dismantler at the elvin and use it on the trap. No fear damaging the Elvin.

There should be alot less of me screaming for trap components now. But I will still buy them. just send me a tell. I'll be in the hive getting traps.

I've been testing the trap dismantler out. I'm not sure how it is supposed to work, but here are the results from my limited testing.

Deadly trap dropped on groud: 3 components gained, no loss of tool, trap lost.
Average Trap dropped on ground: no components gained, no loss of tool, trap lost.
Ave trap set on group: no components gained, no loss of tool, trap lost.
Ave trap still set on chest: no components gained, no loss of tool, chest and trap lost.
