i have an earth gen.
It is built so that I incur absolutely no penalties whatsoever other than the ecl which doesn't bother me in the least.
Its even built so that the bonuses... and this is the best part... the bonuses add even more defense than they were ever intended to.
Yes, earth gen is overpowered. Compare it to other ecl 2 races, it kicks butt. :wink:

Actually I was kinda wondering why the other ECL 2 Human Subraces were ECL 2. The ECL 3 ones are understandable with the bonuses they get but the Tiefling, Aasimar and other Genasi seem to not be that usefull at all. I have often considered them for the stat bonuses they give but the ECL 2 and lack of usefull abilities always deters me.

and now for part 2: the suggestions!

1. lower the ac a couple points. Don't lower it too much becuase the fact that its higher than you can get from an ammy or spell is what makes it useful. It can be lowered some more if and when more variety in amulets become available.
2. allow the ac to stay after the DR has run out.
3. let bludgeoning bypass the damage reduction.

a level 40 earthgen who wears the best ammy only gets +4 to ac..... SO ....lower it ? you are insane....it is low enoguh.....quit tyrping to nearf stuff, and meanwhile PM's STILL go untuched :evil:

i have my own suggestions for the nerfing and they will get implemented some day...even if i have to code it myself. :wink: . as far as nerfing PM's...only way to do that is take away all the ac they gain for the PrC, and i really don't see that happening.

what's the point of a subrace where u sacrafice stats and xp and go ecl 2 to receive a benefit other than to receive something beneficial.

earth gen get lots of stuff and seem ballanced.

at least u can't go pali earth gen.

or tnt cleric earth gen that would be mean.

granted I think that other ones need a boost but don't nerf a sub race? then what's the point?

why not just take sub races away? make it easy on everyone ?

And to further the discussion..

At lvl 20, the greater stoneskin benefit dosnt protect you that long if yer surrounded by a group of elite npc fighter-types swinging away at ya. Hit rk the other day, and 4 guardians took away my greater stoneskin in less then a minute. So its not like earth gen's are getting a perm-until-rest damage reduction and ac boost. By the time they get to 30+, they should be fighting on the planes, or at least finishing up their time with the elite amazons, so the extra ac will last accordingly.

I think the peeps who complain about the earth gen ability's are the players who engage them in pvp. If you're fighting a mid to high lvl earth gen in a 1 vs 1 battle, yeah you wont do that much to them until the it wears off, assuming you cant land enough hits to wear away the stoneskin.
