Crafting Problem
I wish to pick the vast wisdom of seasoned players here. I am having a problem with crafting. I am trying to get from the third level in arcane crafting to fourth level. It says I need to practice my skill some more to advance. The problem is that my crafting experience seems to be stuck at 3982. I have burned about 2k in xp over the past few days but it will not go up above 3982. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thi sis my first attempt at the crafting skills so I am new to any issues pertaining to them.

some thoughts off the top of my head..
1. what type of crafter ?
2. can your build achiceve a higher level in crafting ? (check the wiki)
3. are you multiclassed ?
4. did you try an alternate crafting station (like avendell) ?

I couldn't Find anything on Wiki to help.
I am an arcane crafter, I am multiclassed with wizard as the main class (currently lvl 24), and I have tried alternate stations.

aye specifics will help ---
And --- if you are multiclassed, i dont believe u can advance a craft level unless you were to de-level back to a pure class....the whole point in making a crafter is that the crafting character remains pure in his or her focus to better themselves in their class related crafting skill

Ok... thanks Fatz, I did find the answer finally in the Wiki. The class that I multiclassed in does not allow for further advancement. Good to know.

Here is another question just for the sake of gaining the knowledge before making another mistake such as this. Can you gain master Artisan crafting then multiclass? An example would be a lvl 21 wizard going through the motions and then multiclassing to shadowdancer after gaining the crafting abilities. Would that work or would you lose the crafting skills due to class limitation?

you would keep your crafting abilities.
You can multiclass and still be able to advance your craft as long as you have the proper number of lvls in the proper class.
for example,
you could take 16 lvls of wizard, then 4 monk.
then you could still attain MA arcane crafting but not until after you take another three wizard lvls for a total of 19.
As long as you dont multiclass to a class that limits crafting you should be able to continue crafting.
Disclaimer: The crafting system has been known to be a little... delicate....
There have been many problems with people crafting in the past so going pure class is the safest way and if youre going wizard, pure wizard is easy to play.
edit: just in case it wasn't clear, you always keep the crafting lvls you have already obtained. Ive never heard of any cases of people losing the ability to craft after they multiclass.

yeap..... deleveling works -- and if its a crafter then so what, at least your xp wont go to waste , especially if your an arcane crafter...rods and staffs even not at the MA level are useful
oh ! and didnt Ammehotep intend to mention "SOON" in there as well ?
