I was just out on the nswiki and saw was surely must be an oversight: the Dark Tower shield with a + 4 Hide and Move Silently bonus. A character loses 10 points to these skills when equipping a tower shield. For this reason, no one serious about stealth is going to use a tower shield, so why enhance one in this fashion? I would recommend you put this enhancement on either a small or large shield instead, where it will be useful. I like the idea, though!

It's not necessarily to make a player better at sneaking, but rather to make a player less bad. Many sneakers use shields from time to time, and there are times in that that a player doesn't need to absolutely max out Hide and M/S against monsters or players that couldn't spot them anyways, so this is designed to give them a little more protection without the full penalty.

Large shields or small shields are the way to go for rogues. -2 skill check and -1 skill check respectively on the shields.

Not to mention that little ppl can't use towershields!

Would be great to see more unique large and small shields.

Well, if you're implying that a stealth character might be lugging around several shields and swapping them out as circumstances dictate, then I would reply that a tower shield weighs 19.4 lbs (as opposed to 6 for a small shield) and dexers are not all that adept at carrying around a lot of gear. It just seems a whole lot more logical to put these fine enhancements on a small shield. The loss in AC would be offset by an increased ability to HiPS.

I have a hipser who carries around several sets of light and medium armors, small, large, and tower shields, and weapons of all sorts.

I'm not sure why. Light and Medium armors cap your DEX bonus, tower shields really hurt your HiPS ability and there's only a handful of weapons you can use with the Weapon Finesse feat (none of which weighs more than 6 lbs. I might add). And if you're able to carry tons of gear with your hipser, then you have sacrificed DEX for STR points in order to do that - which kind of works against one of the main goals of dexer builds: maximized AC and AB.

just because armor caps your dex bonus doesn't mean it caps the skill increases for your full bonus...only the skill cap on the armor itself does that.
