Blackness?

I just made a new character , but before I could pick a factoin so I could enter NS , I had to leave , I rested before i left , now when i come back in the hole screen is nothing but black . can someone help me or go in to my account and delete the character I only have the one " Father Blake " and the acount is the same name.

never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever.....ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever log out before you choose a faction. i've had to fix this from about 3 different ppl in the last week.

if you log out before you have a faction your char does not get entered into a "real" area. always choose a faction, even if your just going to delete the char anyway.

It's fixable, you just need to wait for a DM to show up on the server, then contact them and you're set.

when you log in, look at the player list to see if any DMs are on.
if they are log in and type something along the lines of

"/dm Oh Moradin, I be lost in de gret blackness. May ye guide me to da light!"

or for the more straightforward approach...

"/dm I'm stuck with a black screen, please help.

"

edit: in case you dont know, you can type by pressing enter and then typing as normal.
/dm => dm channel
/s => shout channel
/talk => talk channel

Sometimes it is beyond our control. I was creating a toon, had just gotten to the rift sequence and BAM!!! reset. Logged back to the black screen.

Not going to help , I can't see anything , not even the player list , so I'm stuck.
I was trying to move over from 3.5 , guess I'll have to wait now.

look at the player list BEFORE you enter.
when you get to your character selection screen there will be a list of your characters on the left and the character sheet for the selected character on the right. On the right, there are three tabs, one is your character sheet, the second is some server info, and the third is a list of people logged onto the server.

When in-game, you cannot see the names of the DM avatars (ie Banjo - God of Sockpuppets), but you CAN see them (and their levels *snicker*) from the player list that O'Dearly mentioned.

im guessing here : , but it seems that the name you have chosen is what is troubling you ( since you cant get out of the rift and cant make a toon with the same name you are upset

solution :::: seriously make a new toon
-- even if it is to just attempt to communicate with a dm in game -- OR pick a similar yet different name that may make u content ... example -- add a symbol such as † instead of the letter " t " in the word "Father" ...so you can have F"a†her Blake" --- try it in game -- u might like the way it looks --

mind you this use of the † was largley started by the Brethren pre-wipe, so dont be ganking credit for the glorious idea...

and to conclude: dont let somthing simple drive you or the DM's crazy ....

Just make the second character to get the problem fixed. It IS possible to delete it later. Name him... Delete Me
