An extra option in the merchant dialogue.

An extra option in the merchant dialogue.
Would it be possible to add an option to continue with a merchant instead of having to close out a conversation and try to start a new one? I would think that might ease alot of frustration among the peasants that are concerned with the merchants not responding.

What?
Just so you know, you dont have to log out.
When he states for you to exit conversation, just click on the merchant again and you are iniciating a new transaction.

I was thinking of a dialogue option that would allow you to return to the menu after you ID, purchase or sell something. As far as ID'ing all of the un'ID'd items I had a thought about that as well. I was thinking of an object that would ID you like the book would, for the same price as a merchant, in all of the places that Elvin stands. For all of those that did not put points into lore for whatever reason.

I am not sure I see your point. I have been able to speak with merchants when others have been using the merchant. You just cant do it while they are in the process of speaking. Which would be easy to time since their dialogue pops up in you dialogue box as well. Adding the option to continue wouldn't change all that much except to streamline the process. Which would serve to make it a faster experience than having two players clicking on the merchant at the same time cancelling each other out.

How about some sort of lever or something that will Instantly cancel a transaction if the merchant has your items, and just dump them all back in your inventory?
I have lost several things to a reset when the merchants are being... difficult.

I think the root of this suggestion lies in the time period when the server has been running 5+ hours w/o a reset, and its been resonably full for the duration. The merchent / ferry merchant lag gets absolutely horrible, and the game-play lag isnt far behind on the scale of horribleness.
Why not impliment an auto-reset script for the server, say every 4 hours?
Dm's could also turn it off if they are running a long event, or an event close to the reset time (although they could still reset the server before the event manually, if needed)
This would save allot of the early morning / late night players a big irritation (since dm's tend not to come around until mid morning)

The idea has been talked about and shot down already.

Nope. Leave the building and any identify or sale transaction you have in progress remains - you do not get your items back by leaving the building. If you do it before a reset or logging out, you can reenter the building and complete the transaction. The problem is that sometimes the npc won't respond in which case you lose your items.Lorkar1 wrote:A cancellation lever I don't believe is needed since your items go back to inventory when you exit the building.
