the Disease revamp

Post by Cthulhu Drega »

i was just wondering if the time for the effects to hit the target have been reduced? in my exspierence diseases are too slow to be effective most things are dead before any penaltys occur

Diseases are more on Neversummer to harass the PCs. They don't have a big effect on mobs.

My level 3 fighter was hit by a level 4ish ghoul near Daeron and immediately caught a DC32 disease! that's a bit insane, as i haven't the *slightest* chance of saving against it, and with 0 ranks in heal and 8 wisdom i need a +13 HK to get rid of it, which you can't buy. Meanwhile with strength 3 and con 5 by the time i killed all the enemies i had to chug a lesser resto potion and run like hell even to get back to Daeron to find that out.

i eventually managed it by standing next to a Song of Light to boost my +12 HK up to +15 (which isn't possible in most cities). It seems like a pretty extreme ordeal for a level 3 really...

Thats not the point. A level 4 Ghoul shouldn't have a DC of 32 for anything.

Agreed - do you remember what kind of ghoul? I tried to switch around as many diseases as I could, but knew some would fall through the cracks.

Let me know (along with others you find that have imbalanced DCs) and I'll fix them.

the name was just 'Ghoul'. specifically the ones in northwood and the withering forest near Daeron.

DC32 also seen on Rotting Zombies, and also the Ghoul Devourers and Ravagers in Mausoleum.
My guess is the Ghoul Rot disease is the culprit.

The claws for the low cr undead should be using are not in the game yet so need to be created individually :( , they will be worked on but it will take a few days longer then I had initially thought.
