Flea Market

Post by Kromix »

====================================================================================================
||=============== Avendell's Flea Market ===============OoOoO=============== Avendell's Flea Market ===============|
====================================================================================================

A Flea Market will be hosted in avendell at Random Times on Random Days By Fleamarket and Havok's Dragon in Avendell. This Flea Market Contains Items Ranging from lvl 13 to 30, artifacts, boss gear, creature droppings, dyes, and the random useless item that slipped or was added for kicks and giggles.

the items vary between Market and Market and sometimes Items are added at random times during this campaign.

The actual location of this flea market is at the Avendell Penn in front of the archery shop, and the Fleamarketer will be standing at the doorway/gate of this penn, we askyou to look from outside the gate usin TAB and the examine command on the dial. we will have our friendly Dragon standing post checking for the SDer that might attempt to swipe any item. Anyone caught stealing will be ScreenShotted by the Dragon and be reported to the frienly DMs, Stealing in avendell it is considered a hostile action and thus a bannable offence... this is whywe ask you to stay outside the fencing.

we will try to make this market more of a timed event, but so far it will just be a random appearance.

We WILL announce on shout about or items and such, and we will keep the marketing announcements to a 5ish min period.

the ItemList Will NOT be posted as this is a Flea Market... you have to come and see what we have at the time.

Our prices Will Not be posted either, this is a marketing scheeme that Debunks other people from undercutting our prices. which are already reasonable...

lastly, you cant haggle us, there is noooooooo way, but we might give discounts in special occations like buying in bulk 8)

as seeing that DCN was unhappy with our marketing skills, they decided to erase my post on the trading section in their forums, which they soo begged hardcore in game that we do... sho we woudnt "spam" shout.

to an update, earlier today there was a flea market held in avendell, we had full DM support and no lag was repported. we even tossed in free ale with the purchases...

wewill be holding theese "events" as stated in a random fashion due to time constrains on our side.

gear was being sold at a very reasonable price and bulk discounts where given...

for all you costumers, we will try to have more of a variety next time, but hey! its a flea market... we have what we have... its luck of the draw, and if you missed out in some item, it might be still there for the next time arround ;)

we do accept boxes as for of payments and item trading...

but there isone thing i ask of y'all No Entering the enclosed area for your protection... we DO take Screenies... and have a Dragon with true sightat all times...

See you next Swap meet!!!
sincerely yours...

This being the "General Forum" and not a specific forum dedicated to the Flea Market announcements I am not sure why the previous post was deleted since I was responding to specific statements made against DCN. If my post was considered a flame then perhaps the remarks instigating my response should have been looked at as well. I welcome the competitive nature of what they are trying to do and wish the new Flea Market no ill will however when shouts become personal I simply suggested that they not make remarks against DCN in their advertising;

Our members have even bought items from this new item resource so please do not put DCN down when we are helping your new endeavor.

I think it's a clever marketing strategy....

but still, even IRL advertising only hints at how it's better than the competition, sometimes in mature, intelligent, and clever ways...

Hmm... o O (I could use some more coffers, perhaps I'll dip into my vast pool of personal mules and join in on the fun ..when i have time to..)

Having a market is fine and it does help many of the members who cant find people to hunt for certain items, still learning the NS4, etc.

As TGPO wrote items should not be left on the ground but as I said since I see people who offer a free trade (meaning anyone) do offer the community a good service, so a couple recommendations, only place 1 of each type on the ground and dont keep the market "open" with everything on the ground for an extended time because even though I do agree something like this is good for the community it shouldnt be a cause for a lot of additional lag.
TGPO wrote:OK folks 2 tips on how you can help reduce the load on the server.

1: Please dont drop all your gear on the ground for any purpose. "I want someone to ID it" isnt a valid reason. Use a box, drop that and then have the other person pick it up and ID the items in it.
2: Large Parties. Parties larger than 5 or 6 people have a severe negative impact on the server. Please do your best to limit the size of your group to this.

Both of these items will help minimize server load and lag. Please be considerate of not only your gaming experiance but the impact upon others. To put it bluntly, a DMs job is primarily concerned with the community as a whole, and if someone personally dislikes restrictions put in place for the benefit of the community ... IMHO that is a person that I can live without.
That being said best of luck to all although I haven seen Dwali's Emporium for a while

so for clarifacation , as long as there is no lag ( thanks to lathander for the onstant lag checks ) and we only drop one of each types 9 ie we have 7 beholder elts but only drop one ) we should be ok right?

and i publicly apologiesed to u red about the rip off shout ....

u also accepted publicly so i am not sure y this is even here.....

Anyways on other matetrs, We also buy items, or take in as trade. But due to us needing to make a profit ( Being the #1 Gear Distributer and all now) we only buy for half price that we sell it for and give u 3/4 its price in trade value.

also coffers are allways bought for 50 and yes we do buy in bulk.

_____________________________________________________________

on another note this is not just for [Brethren] To participate in .....

We usually start itup but last time we had a slae we pulled at least 3mill and had mabey 20-30 people come by and purchase so take advantage of it your self ....

Grab your MA crafter and park em in ave so next time u hear the flea market shout log him in and make a buck or 2fer your self :D

Heck u bring in your MA crafter we might buy some stuff from u as well :D

oh and P.S. Don, if u would like some tips on some selling stratgys let me know i would be more than happy to help :D

Unfortunatly, I do not believe your assisstance will be required since we have never had problems selling items. We are a "by request only" business and we only go after specific items. Which means that we do not collect as many random items to sell. So honestly we encourage the "Flea Market" to do well since it means we will not have to seek out as many mundane items for lower level players.

For clarification; your post in The Trade Forums was only deleted because it did not follow the rules of the forum itself. I posted the SS above because my original post in this thread had been deleted. I responded to your marketing strategy because DCN had been specifically mentioned in that shout and once again in this thread.

I appreciate the competative nature of your business but we do not see the new flea market as an infringement on any clientel that we have already established. We would not have started the Trade Forums if we thought that these clients would go elsewhere for business. Afterall, we are the Dragon Mafia. We don't feel threatened by your business in any way. Good luck to you in your new line of work.

a note of our mundane items...

Whips of air, Robes of theflame, full planar boss gear, and other items such Djini blade and hurricane axe are bring sold, including artifacts. fromcommon to rare items are here ;) just come by and have a look... you wont know you might have a great deal in some gear untill you ask...

and no we dont do requests... but your item might be in the bunch... and cheap 8)

edit: if you are considered mundane from another merchant, we show no favoritism towards you if you are not as knowledgeable as some veterans to the server...
